Cece my son PIR was 2/11/11 one week after the third worse blizzard in their history. LOL. My son said the only good thing was they did not have much PT outside in the cold becasue it was such a cold winter. When we walked outside after the ceremony was snowing, He turned to us and said, "THIS is not SNOWING!!" I know a lot of N4Ms who were nervous that the airports were not going to be open to let us get there in time. We would of shoveled our selves in if we had too. He said he has seen enough snow to last a life time....lol
Kyle graduated BC on Nov. 18 and they had that all night "thing" out in very rough weather! It also snowed on us while we stood in line for security clearance to get into the graduation! It was worth it, though!
7 years ago at Great Lakes they were rebuilding the whole thing and it was very difficult to get around! I bet things have changed since then.
Our prayers are also with the Reynolds family. This will be harder as time goes on. My mom passed away last December and she was 90 years old and very ill, but sometimes I still catch myself thinking I will go home and call her when I see something she would like at the store! How weird is that?
I wish I could be at fleet week in San Diego, but my son is "somewhere" in the Pacific! Maybe next year!
We got 2 1/2 inches of rain last night! Praise the Lord!
Windhaven, I guess not matter how old our kids our, we are still experiencing 1st with them, like once they turn 18, they sign their own legal documents, 1st night away of many that they will be away from home as they serve our country, 1st time they Tell you of a decision they made, when usually they talk to you before making important decisions. I am proud of my son, and I know he will do well no matter what Path the Navy has him on. Happy Birthday to your sailor!
