Hello beckmcs and welcome to our group. I'm not close to there lol but the internet keeps all of us close as does the connection of our children serving our country. Please feel free to express your feelings and ask any questions that you may have. We are all at different stages of this journey but we are all here. My son is still a RTC as well.

Hi Texas Moms,  My son left for BC on 8/23 so I am officially one of you now!  My family is in Cypress, just outside of Houston.  Anyone nearby?

kstreeper... I am also in Spring off Sawdust road. My son in on his first deployment. He has been in 1 year.

I got to talk to SF today ship to shore. He sounded wonderful. He loves it. He said it is much better than he had anticipated it would be. Music to a mom's ears.

Lisa I can't wait till Saturday!!! I had so much fun last week I am ready to do it again. Colten sent home a huge envelope of letters and cards that he has gotten while at BC he said he was running out of room so I have started going thru them and putting them in a binder for him.

Ok, ya'll have been busy - and so have I! Trying to catch up on 6 pages...

I had so much fun at the meet-n-greet last Saturday - it was wonderfuly getting to meet and know you ladies better. I told my son I was going to do that, and he said "Mom, you know most of those aren't going to be Nuke moms, and besides, even if they are, there are so many of us, that I probably won't know their son." I told him, that's ok, it's not really about YOU anyway - and besides, they're all the same Navy, and that's what brings us together. lol, I think he was shocked - his world has become so concentrated on being a Nuke that he hasn't been thinking of anything else. And this is probably the first sign he's really seen from me that I am finally getting used to his new life (aka, letting go).

It's so nice to have a face to put with the names on here now - I love it! And I get to go to another one this weekend...kinda liking this! :)
