Thank you all so much I really needed to vent yesterday afternoon. My son did finally call late last night :) he was reassigned to a ship and first chance RDC let him call with the update he's set to PIR on 9/16. I'm so excited finally and end in sight at least for bootcamp. I've been on the verge of a breakdown for ahile now with his injury and not knowing but today is much better. I just pray his injury doesn't get aggravated and that he makes his PIR with no problems. I can't wait to see him by then it will be a little over 4mths at RTC ugh.... Thanks again ladies for all your support and understanding.

The more I hear about the LACK of contact, the crazier I feel about letting him go.  He's a young man already...older than most going in....but I talk to him almost every day.  To think that I can't talk to him for weeks/months is making me a little sick to my stomach.  My heart and prayers go out to all of you.  SBARBER - extra prayers for you...not being able to get to your sick child has to be unbearable.  I cried a little with you when I read that.  Dec 12 is coming too quickly!

sbarber - any news yet? I honestly can't sympathize yet because my son has not left yet (leaves Sept 6th) but I can only imagine what you must be going through. I would be going CRAZY! Have you tried calling his recruiter? I don;t know if they can help, maybe someone can clarify that? I'm sorry you are having to go through this and I am praying for complete recovery for your son and peace for you. My son that is leaving soon is my first born, my baby and I don't know how I am going to handle him being gone.

BOATMOM: I'm from Amarillo where in North Texas are you??
Comment by BOATMOM on August 23, 2011 at 9:06pm

hey there Texas Moms!  Does anyone have a kid on the John C Stennis right now?  My daughter left on the carrier in late July and we've been able to talk once by phone.  Not much email from her, although I know that she works nights - she is in Aircraft Ordinance.  Just wanted to see if, by chance, there's someone out there in North Texas who could sympathize with me!  :-)

hey ya'll hope everyone is having a better day than I am. My son has been in bootcamp for 11 almost 12 weeks. Yes 12 weeks he's been in the Recruit Convalesant Unit for over 7 of those. Today he went to his doctors appt. should i say bright and early this MORNING and he should have been placed back with a division to finish up. This being said I should have gotten a call this MORNING to give new ship/div and PIR date. Have I gotten anything oh heck no I'm so upset I really want to call RTC my husband the ex-marine says "NO" but I am literally making myself sick from crying. I know my child chose this life I will always support him and never tell him how i'm feeling but right now I hate this. What do I do now????? I know I have to get used to this but how??? I miss my son I just want to know whats going on. I can't even write him I don't know where to mail it. Gosh noone understands. My best friend says you'll be fine your the strongest person I know he'll call when they let him oops gotta go. Thanks for your support friend. Noone understands (noone I know) please tell me what to do..........
