Vicki and Vonecia...I am in Tyler...there is also an East Texas website for us in part of the state.
Welcome and yes believe me this site is a HUGE help! lol
Vicki-basic is hard but keep coming here and get involved in your husbands PIR group - it should form soon. It will be posted in the group Boot Camp moms. That is a really good group, too. Some solid veteran moms and wives sort of stalk and answer questions.
You the first thing you will get is your husband's civillian clothes in a box. If it looks like they rushed when they put them in there, it is because they DID! You will get a form letter detailing graduation information in about 7-10 days. It may have a little message for you - that is so nice! You MAY get lucky and he will need some info from you for his clearance but most likely, you will not hear from him for about 4 weeks. They get to phone home then. Make sure he has a phone card to use - send him one - and make sure you activate it before you send it so he doesn't waste precious time doing it hisself. Write him all the time - write write write. It will keep him focused and going. I wrote almost every day and just waited for his address until I sent them. He preferred them typed as they can't read them until rack time by the red light in the room (it simulates a ship and red lights are not seen by the enemy)
Once he is able, again, not for about 4 weeks, he will be able to write on Sundays - you should expect mail on Wednesday or Thursday.
It seems like it goes on forever but then it is over! Don't miss his PIR! It is great! A school will be wonderful for you = you will have communications back!
We have all been there and we are all here for you!
