My son graduated!  Yippee - he is now a CTR and will be home tomorrow - he and my husband are driving his truck home from Pcola via Bourbon Street.....He reports to Whidbey Island in Washington on the 25th.

Never a dull moment around here... hubby hit a deer with MY CAR this morning! He's fine  just have to fight with the insurance company now. Wish he would have taken his truck now instead! :)

BrendaSue, Thanks so much for the information. Would love to contact her. My daughter may know her son, depending on when he graduated. It would be great to actually meet another mom. I know there are about 6 people from my daughter's graduating class that have either already left for the Navy or are in DEP like my daughter. Will have to also see if their parents would be interested in forming a local support group.

My son was a stick in boot. He did not like it one bit. They have to get up earlier than anyone else and after awhile their hand cramps and goes numb. The 2 good things about it. 1 they usually get their food first and 2 during.
por they are upfront so you can get really good pictures.

Sharpmom, there is Theresa, Cole's mom from Dayton!  She gets on FB more than she does here.  I can get you in contact with her if you don't already know her.  Welcome to N4M's!

I live in Dayton, TX. My daughter is in DEP with a March ship date. Any other moms from the Houston area?

A stick is anyone who carries a flag or stand in the place of where a flag carrier would be if they "won" an award... for example those standing behind our two honor award winners holding the flags are called "sticks".  HooYah!
