OK, I just got the form letter in the mail...PIR is Sept 23!!!

WooHoo!  I'll take those 4 little hand written lines, he sounds good!

I got the box and the form letter on the same day--6 days after he shipped, so I think there is lots of variation when people receive the form letter.  I think in my case, he must have gotten there just when the division was filling up, because he's in a push division-will only have been in bc 7 weeks when he graduates.

peyt's mom, you will recieve the form letter in a couple more weeks. The 'kid in a box' with personal effects is shipped out within a day or two of your Seaman Recruit arriving at Boot camp.

I've heard that not all ships allow those.  You might want to check before ordering one!

Gift idea for our sailors.

Rack pack is a heavy canvas curtain that hangs inside and attaches on the back of their rack curtain. It helps to darken, it keeps it more quiet and the rack warm. It has pockets to hold pictures and small items like mini alarm clock.

http://www.navyrackpacks.com/. You can call also the # is on the Website. 855 722 5722 Pat is very helpful order 7ft size. They also embroidry their last Name on it for free.
