OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

it is only for humans (and fish, I guess)

I hope I live close enough in southeast Texas to be considered a DFW mom - if it is restricted to only them!

is the Meet only for D/FW moms?

P'nut & Jam - you're welcome, maybe I helped after all! :) Not sure if I'll be able to make it - I live just north of Austin now, so it's a bit of a drive. Also, August 20 is my dad's 70th birthday (lives in Ohio). I may be trying to go up to visit him that weekend. Too early to know yet. I will tell you though, that if you've never been to the World Aquarium, it is absolutely awesome, and a must see if you can. I've only been once, and would definitely be up for seeing it again!

rhonda--you get your son to yourself for a whole day before anyone knows he is in town, that is the way to plan a party and still get him all to yourself.

I talked to my son today and I was confused about when he was coming home. he will not be here till Friday night and I wore my Navy Mom shirt today. I don't know what I am going to do with myself. I guess I need to go shopping and stick the fridge.

Trey's mom - congrats! My sailor is still in Nuke school, and I won't get to see him until October. Enjoy your time!

P'nut & Jam - I know the TRE used to have a route that way, but that was about 7 years ago. You had to transfer from the train to a bus, but it didn't cost any extra, and pretty much dropped you off a block away. Ok, wait a minute - that was the Dallas Aquarium, not the World Aquarium...well, darn, guess that didn't help at all!
