For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Brenda Sue on July 27, 2011 at 2:25pm: tygerh, a storm can mean LOTS of things (from Katrina and Rita in 2005) to just some nice rain. Here on the coast we watch them all because they can change from a "storm" to a full fledge hurricane in days. We have slept through a category 1 and we leave for a category 2 or higher!

Here is southeast Texas was have had lots of rain the past few days. I am so glad for it. We were one of the first counties in Texas to lift the "no-burn" ban. Did y'all know in Texas out of 264 counties 256 had no burn bans?

You might want to get with her and drive together. She has come and stayed with me the night before - you are welcome to also! I only have one extra bed - but I do have a fairly decent air mattress if you both want to come and stay.
