Happy Tuesday Texas Ladies.....

Remember to take it one day at a time!

Prayer I reminded my son of: "If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it!"

Thanks to all you moms out there in the same "boat" as I am!  It is a big help to hear words of encouragement.  I know Peyt will be fine and will be a better person for what he has chosen to do with his life.  I couldn't be more proud.  When so many other kids his age have no clue what is going on in the world, literally, our kids make that knowledge their job and set about to do something to make our world a better place.

Thanks again for all the encouragement.

Brenda, we sure know how you are feeling.  My son has outgrown most of his clothes.  He is a MA and they have to work out all the time - he is all muscle now!

Matt's Mom - could you please give me an address where we are sewing on Friday?  I know it is the same place - but I followed you there last time.  I think Theresa - Cole's mom might be coming from Dayton.  I am waiting to hear from the Donna that came with me last time.  Donna????  you here???

I say let everyone bring their own drinks, I'll make some sort of dessert - either cookie or brownie.   How much is that sandwich tray?

Got my phone call yesterday while I was at the grocery store... I know people thought I was crazy laughing and talking to my son. He said he was homesick but I reassured him that it would get easier and he would proud of himself once it was through. I made him laugh to brighten his spirits...said they haven't won anything yet as far as flags go.

He is in an integrated Div...I told him to incourage the others and help them as a team...he know how that works from playing sports.

Told I would send him funnies to make him laugh. I did good and didn't cry...wel not much after getting off the phone...try not to because I know if I do I will start the flood of waterworks again from missing him and not hearing his silly antics and voice.

Hugs to all you mommas that have not yet gotten your phone call and letters to start coming...there is light at the end of the tunnel... :)

I donated about 12 bags of his clothes but they were old and ratty and I was excited to do it - still kept a bunch - he never threw anything away.  He has 3 drawers with t shirts, unders, sweats, shorts, and his closet has his dress clothes.  I am sure we will get rid of more when he is home in 2 weeks and goes thru it.

You will become accustomed to his being gone.  It is so hard to think that we are working ourselves out of a job!  Nobody warned us of this part.  You can take some solace in the knowledge that you raised a great patriot!  A wonderful young man.  Time to work on YOU now!

Keep in touch with this group - BC is very hard on mommas.  Don't make ANY major decisions about ANY of his things right now - not a good time to do that.  You have to grieve.

Don't throw their stuff away. Store whatever you can as best as you can. We did get rid of some clothes, but we kept most of it. I would much rather have his clothes than his junk! Probably have 12 boxes in the garage, but I know that he will be returning to my house at some point (even just to visit). It's always fun to open a box and go through it when I am missing him... I then decide what I want to keep and what can be thrown away. He has only been gone since Feb 2011, but it has helped to just touch and look (his room has been converted to guest room) his dress clothes are hanging in my closet!  Welcome to the new Brenda!

Kind of sad...my son told me today to just trash or donate whatever clothes he has left here....seems so final that he's never going to live back home again! :(

Barbie,

You are so sweet!  It would have been great to meet you.  Lets definitely get together sometime.  The day was really hard, but when we got to the recruiters office the recruiters were busy with a couple of other people so we were able to just sit and chill and visit.  I think the change in environment and atmosphere at the r office made all the difference and we were all able to say goodbye without falling to pieces.
