Said goodbye to my kiddo about 2 hours ago.  It was a long hard day.  The saddest was when Peyt said goodbye to his 93 yr old granddad, very hard for both of them, they have been best friends since Peyt was born.

Me too...I know if would be fun! I am a mom new at this since my son is still in BC. But I was an Air Force wife and saw the guys who no family...they were always welcome at my house for dinner and they loved it and just hung out because the barrack were lonely...they just need to feel like being at home....funny thing was they were either my age or right around it.

Hi Texas Moms!  I'm Christie and I live in Pottsboro, Texas on beautiful Lake Texoma.  My sailor is Ashley who is currently serving as an AO on the John C Stennis - in fact, they just left Bremerton today for a several-month journey.  I'm very excited and also apprehensive - but overall just exceedingly proud of the progress my daughter has made since joining the Navy.  I'd love to become a part of the TEXAS moms group.

Heads at Ease sends them directly to the troops also unless it is a rare occasion were some of the moms can meet the ship and hand them out personally.  That would be awesome to be there when they receive their pillowcases. HAE  doesn't adopt a group every month so crew members just sew and stash until a need arises.  Sue, the lady over the HAE project, gets contacted by people requesting adoption or sometimes she hears of a unit that needs some support from back home and we will send pillowcases to them.  Either project Brenda72 is always in need of people to contribute.  I sew for both and send pillowcases wherever the need is.  Glad to have you helping out.  Wish you were closer and could join us Friday.

YEA!!!  There are two places that send them.  Molly's Adopt a Sailor sends them directly to a specific deployed troop.  I am not sure but I think that Heads at Ease sends them to a person and she disburses them.  Here is the link to Molly's.  CLICK HERE (This month is kinda special.  We FINALLY go to sponsor a submarine.  They are REAL quiet - so they are shipping differently this month.)

Do you send them to a specific place or just where ever?

That is the directions that I use - but really any way you make them is just fine!
