not a particular print - just mainly cotton (something soft that would be nice to sleep on). They actually use them and tell us that the bright spot on their bunk makes it so much better! You going to get to come sew with us?
Just wanted to give a plug for a different group that make pillowcases only (well sometimes we will make quilts)... the Mom who started this group was affliated with MAS and still is, but we also adopt divisions for all Military Groups and make pcs. We just sent over 7,000 pcs for the USS Bush's maiden deployment back in May and are now working with a Texas Mom who is spearheading pcs for the USS Stennis - the entire ship will require almost 7,200 when all counts are finished. I just shipped a box of 30 two weeks ago! I love MAS, but HAE is a much smaller group and I have made many great friends and many of them are from TEXAS!
Welcome to all the new Moms! The roller coaster has just begun!
I see we have lots of new "boot camp" moms here. Welcome and glad you found us!! Several of us have been there and done that and have SEVERAL t-shirts!!
The best thing you can do is to occupy yourself. There is another group on here called "Molly's Adopt a Sailor". We send things to deployed military of all branches. Last year we won $50,000 from Pepsi Refresh to send things over. In the next few days, we HOPEFULLY will win another $50,000 for a combat support hospital in Afghanistan that we have also been sending items to - click here to sign in and vote. You can also vote by texting Pepsi (73774) and typing in our code - 107637. Be sure and vote every day until the 31st!! (THANKS)
Another way you can help us by come and help sew pillowcases to send to military people. You don't need to know how to sew to be able to do this - I PROMISE (right, Donna?) Mapquest Silsbee - it might not be too far for you to come. It would be fun to make a weekend of it - there are several hotels close (in Beaumont). I would be glad to show you around. Below is the initial invitation. Just PM me or Matt's Mom if you have any questions! Thanks!
We have scheduled a day to sew pillowcases if anyone is interested in coming to Silsbee. We have a place lined up for Friday July 29 beginning at 10am. I have 3 boxes of fabric that has already been cut and is ready to be matched up and sewn. We could use your help with other things even if you don't sew. If you have any questions just ask me or Brenda Sue.
