OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Brenda Sue, I started a page for my sons division, but no comments. Does it take awhile for people to comment or does it have to be approved?  Just curious.

Mine called about 1 or 2 in the morning!  Don't worry - you will soon start taking showers with your phone!  It is now an extension of your body!

So how long after they arrive do they get to make the call? His plane landed about 7:30...

Ladies, sorry - but I'm going to have to cancel this weekend.  Both my sisters got sick and I don't want to go alone.  Sorry - but hopefully another time.

Good evening to everyone.  I got "the box" today and cried, but at least now I know he is on his way to becoming the man I know he can be.  Need to finish up my letter to send.  Hope everyone is doing well.

Lamarmama - I couldn't find a group for you PIR date.  I suggest YOU start it!  Name it something pretty general like "PIR 04/22/11" so that others can find it.  Within that group - start discussions with each ship or division!  Then, start arranging the meet and greet and where to stay!

Have fun! Enjoy!!!

It looks like my son's PIR date will be April 22.  Does anyone else have any information on this ?
