FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thanks so much Brenda.  I will check out Molly's Adopt a Sailor. We are 10 minutes from DFW.  Should I try and get her family and friends involved.  I don't want to upset her further.  I want to tread softly.  Thank you again.

Kimberleyrk, One of the best things for you (and your friend) to do is just to get involved on here.  There is a group called Molly's Adopt a Sailor that does LOTS of good (and fun) things for our deployed troops.  We adopt a different group each month, both on the sand and in the sea!

This is my first time here, and I am honored.  My best friend's son is being deployed to Afghanistan in March. I think my best friend is very depressed and I want to help her.  Can you please advise me of any support groups in the Grapevine/Southlake metroplex?  Thank you.

redsmom...my Sailor completed battlestations last thur/fri....got the call friday afternoon....it was an awesome call....I wouldnt miss PIR for the world....have the tissue already packed, since I have become an emotional basket case the last couple months

Welcome aboard Laina, and we are glad to have you!  Yea my husband and I need to talk about PIR plans and we need to do it this week so I can at least make the plans and reservations.  My sons PIR is 3-11-11

Laina....I have a SAILOR graduating next week PIR 2/11...we are staying at Quality Inn, and gonna try to go to the Meet & Greet at Ramada, and the one at Anatasia's
