Charley, I am making tentative plans to come - but don't know what my sister's future holds (they just found she has melanoma). If we don't have to be at the doctor, we will probably be there (well, just me - she won't be in the sun all day)!!

What stage of building is this house going to be at that time? Will we be framing, roofing, wiring (haha), plumbing, painting, landscaping?????

Yeah Melinda - CPO is an E7. My brother was a Chief Petty Officer, like your son. So now add the ET and/or FC to that... is it FC/PO3? Like Mary said, its so confusing, petty officer 3rd class has one stripe, while petty officer first class has 3. Seems all backwards.

Click Here - for information about the "meet and greet" in Denton!!

Colleen and I have talked about going - but now it all depends on how things are with her!! It is probably a 7 hour drive for us - so we would be making a weekend of it!! Sounds like "fun" though!!!

again THANKS!! Yes, Colleen worked in the rice fields as a flagger for the crop dusters in her younger years - and we were only about 20 minutes from the beach - so another popular place - and her husband is an avid beach fisherman - so here she goes again!!

The death of the ozone layer is a scary thing - but I agree with you - although, I still spray my hair (some) and drive (but I do carpool to work).

Yes, we have another oncology nurse on this website who is a dear friend (LynnDear) and she has been feeding us websites also. I am not much of a reader (ask my politically active friends - don't tell me where to read - just tell me) - so I'll know who to come to with questions.

We do live about two hours from MD Anderson - but she said that she just wants to deal with the oncology department closer to home - Beaumont. I believe they work closely with MD Anderson as far as the treatment goes.

You don't realize how much just getting to talk to you has helped!! I guess it is like when our babies left for boot camp - the GREAT UNKNOWN!!!

Now, mine is headed for Spain - another GREAT UNKNOWN - but I have found some moms whose kiddos have already been there and done that - and we have been "chatting" Thank God for Navy for Moms!!!!

Laura - thanks so much for the encouraging words!! I know that Colleen is reading them as well!!

Questions ?? We don't have cancer in our family - diabetes YES - cancer - NO!!! We don't even know what questions to ask! Any help here appreciated!

aw - THANKS!!! She just called and had an x-ray and Cat Scan done today (yuk, the barium test??)
This sister is Anna Colleen on this website. She is the one that makes the "Freedom Wraps" and sends to the guys in the sandbox. I am sure she has made 100's of them!! Joni, she was at the Waco get-together with me.

Melanie!! Looking forward to chatting !!

I am going to warn you - we just found out my sister has melanoma - she should go to an oncologist this week for more information. The doctor that biopsied it told her "it was as bad as it gets". So . . . not sure what the future holds. I will have to go to the doctor appointments with her so that I can write down what they say!! I still want to go to Denton - and so does she - if we can!

Hi Texas Carol it good to know that there is someone else right here in Round Rock. I would love to get to know you, maybe we could get together.

Helen, your are quite welcome. I'll never look at a penny lying on the ground the same way any more! In fact, I dropped one today on my way out of the store - I had to stop and pick it up and thank God at that time for allowing me to put my trust in Him!!
