I am pretty sure she is already a member of that group. Seems like I heard her talking about it. At our Beaumont get-together around Christmas time, we had a blue candle and a gold candle (for her), We can ask her in Waco. I am pretty sure she is going!
Are you, Cecelia??? Riding with me?? I have a mom from Vidor who wants to go also!

Laura, yes - quadratic equations - parabolas - x equals negative b plus or minus the square root of b square minus four a c - all over two a.

When I was telling the kids this today - one girl (blonde) - thought that when I said "plus or minus" that I was giving her a choice - so she hollers out "PLUS"

I absolutely HATE driving through San Antonio, especially the part where you can choose either the upper or lower road. The first time - I did not know what I wanted!! Not I ALWAYS take the "high road".
Sometimes I take the loop - I only go through there on my way to Kerrville. I have lots of friends in Kerrville!!

Joni - were you in the classic car or someone else?
Did you have a "close encounter"???

Joni, the real sad thing is that her son was stationed in Alaska at the time. They still do not have all the results back (last I heard) and do not know the real reason for his death!!! THAT would be hard to deal with!!!
Another mom on this website, from Georgia or Florida, had a Sailor that died in a motorcycle accident just a few months ago in Virginia. A mom from Texas had met her here and at PIR - flew out to be with her during the funeral. The N4M was one of the very few people that this bereaved mom had at her side.
Oh, I could go on and on to the advantages of being on this website!! They FAR outweigh the disadvantages!!!

Here is the link to the bereavement page, for those interested. click here

I think it is a good idea for everyone to leave them a comment. Those moms gave the ultimate gift to our nation. Joni, if you are like me - I am always sneaking in here on every break I can get and want to hurry and reply so I don't forget to come back to it (like I am doing now). Cecelia is from my area and I am hoping that she comes with me to Waco and you guys get to meet her personally. She is great and talks about her son freely!! Of course that night, she had her daughter and grandbaby by her side. I am sure it is getting harder now that they are both in Japan. That is why she NEEDS to meet y'all in person and some goods friendships can be established.

My son called today (during class) with the news that as I am headed his way - he is headed out for more training!!! Who do I turn to?? MY NAVY MOMS!!!
Since I was teaching quadratics, I text Mom's from Texas, New York, Florida, Oregon, North Dakota, Arizona and got immediate sympthy!!! Thanks my Navy Mom friends!!!!

Joni, Why a bereavement page - what happened??? On the USS Ford?

We do have a group for "Mothers of Fallen Sailors" on here.
If you need the link, I can find it for you.

Click "options" and put a check in "thumbnails" then click "OK" or something like that (add picture maybe)

Maria, My son is fine and stationed in Virginia. It is Cecelia who lost her son last summer. Just wanted to set the record straight.
