I co-signed for a nice truck for Derek just three months before boot camp. When, he left - I was asking him about how he was planning on making those payments, etc. He said "Don't worry, Mom." I replied, "Derek, that truck loan is in MY name." He said that HE would be in much more trouble than I would if he did not pay that note!! I also think that it has something to do with their level of security clearance!! They must have a clean record for some rates!!! They really need to learn to be careful - or it could jepordize their future goals!!

aw - Colleen - I know you would go anywhere, anytime and any place. I am still amazed that you bothered to go to PIR with me on your own dime (and Derek's own dad did not bother to do that).
That day I was just too frazzled to call anyone and I also did not know the condition that Derek would be in!! He was sooo mad after they made him miss his first flight - and then he almost missed it again the next morning!!!
Love Ya- Sis!!!

You are so right - Kathleen - but my son is a MA - he probably won't be on a ship. Therefore, he will have to see the sights from an airport. But . . . he is SUPPOSED to go to Spain next October. I am sure he will be taking some side trips and seeing different places then.

To "see the world" and Sept. 11 are the some of the reasons my Sailor joined.
Someone suggested they get a flag from every place they have been.
My son has been to Germany and Ireland - but he did not leave the airport in Ireland. He has also been to Kuwait.
I have a plate from Kuwait and a sweatshirt from Ireland.
I also have a SAILOR home for a few days!!!

Did he fill out his tag in his seabag? I am sure once the Marine notices that he has the wrong bag, he will contact them. I would also check with the bus company as well. Have him contact his command as well, let them know whats going on. I am sure his shipmates can help him out with uniforms until his seabag is found. Does the bag he have have Identification it as to where your son could contact him?
