DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Theresa, There is a book called "Honor, Courage, Committment". It tells all about boot camp. I have it - we could meet in Beaumont and I would let you borrow it!! I just want to keep it for my son.

Sorry, I meant to say Lumberton and Beaumont.

I'm looking for someone in Nederland or Beaumont who could help my husband and I out. We live near Zavalla and he works in Beaumont. (four hour drive everyday) I am getting so worried about him, and not just driving in the fog and ice and rain. He's not getting any rest. He's a professional executive chef and usually comes back to Lufkin on Tuesday nights to teach an advanced ballet class at the Academy of Dance in Lufkin. But on Monday, Wed and Thurs, he needs a place to stay with a room and shower. I want to put an ad in the paper but he doesn't want to stay with a stranger and with Navy for moms - none of us are strangers! He usually works 6-3 and there are never any hotel rooms or houses to rent that arn't falling apart. We thought about buying a camper to park in an RV, but there havn't been any spaces since he got hired. We've had hurricane damage for Rita and Ike, and are still cleaning up, so he comes homes every Friday night (unless there is a very unusual, rare event) (He is director of the Deep East TX Chef's Association, so he does a lot of community service.)
PS. He used to be the demonstrator chef for the diabetic association, so I bet you could talk him into a cooking class or two! LOL

I will miss this about where we live, but I really do need the sunshine and time with my hubby. The kids are looking forward to daddy finally being on shoreduty!

LOL a buzzard! They are beautiful and almost everywhere up here in the mountains! That day they were calling to each other and watching the kids at the school!

LoL, if only! I'll let the squirrels in the tree do the decorating! They come to my door to get some nuts for the winter! We also have a mating pair of bald eagles come and visit this tree! Oh wait I have a photo of that!
