haha - it has been quite a while. I teach 9th grade (mostly 14 - 16 year olds). Some of them tell me that this is the FIRST time they have EVER seen snow!!!
Most of them got up in the middle of the night to play in the snow.

Now - I have to teach them ALGEBRA!! ARGH!

I received a phone call from Joshua around 11 pm our time that he was in the hospital from a car wreck. He is banged up pretty good along with a bruised lung. He was in the back seat of the car, and had to be cut out of the car along with the front passenger. Both the driver and the front passenger are in ICU.

Joshua called again around 1 am asking for prayer the driver Miguel. The doctors have told him he will not make it through the night. Miguel’s parents are about 3 hours away. Joshua is the one that called his parents with the news. Please pray for Miguel and his family, the other passenger and his family, as well as Joshua. Their ship mates are making their way to the hospital to be with them.
I will update you as I hear more from Joshua.

Yea!!!!!!! I am glad we have some San Antonio moms willing to work on this!! When we did one last June (and the website had only just begun in Feb), we had a fantastic turn-out - considering we had less than 100 members then!!

OK - Fiesta week sounds great!! As long as there is things to do. I honestly don't think too many of the moms care about the nightlife either - uh, we are moms and have to warn our kids about this stuff now!! I wonder if N4M's could get a float in the parade. Can you check with the recruiters and see if the Navy is marching in the parade and maybe we could go behind them or something?

From past get-togethers I have been to - we want things to entice people to come but we also want some time to just visit. I wonder if there is a hotel with some sort of room (or nice lobby) we could just gather and visit for a few hours.
Having things to do helps get hubby and siblings involved - but moms want to talk!! A restaurant with a banquet room would also be great!! Do you San Antonio moms mind checking around??? I REALLY appreciate it!!

I would think hotels around $100 a night would be reasonable. We have roomed together with people we have only met online and it has been just fine!! It is only for a night or two at the most.

I have gone to Kema/Galveston, New York City, and Tucson, Arizona for over night get-togethers with Navy for moms. Oh, and I went shopping in Old Town Spring!! Everyone one of them has been a unique and awesome experience.

With our numbers up to almost 400 now, I bet we can have over 50 moms (plus dad and siblings) at this gathering!! I also would LOVE to have our Sailors in MA school from Lackland get to join us for a meal or two!!

THANKS!!!!!!!

It was GREAT!!! We had one Texas Mom wanna-be from Louisiana who has REALLY connected with a couple of our Texas' Moms, so she had to come and visit (LynnDear). Then, we had two from Spring (Coyote and Cindy). Coyote had her daughter join us (darling girl) and Cindy had her youngest grandson (adorable one-year old - who NEVER even made a peep). CCR from Huntington joined us with her dad - Wonderful people!! We wish the rest of you were there with us!!!

We talked about doing another BIG get-together in about six month. We thought about the San Antonio area. We would love for some of you San Antonio moms start looking around for hotels, restaurants and things to do.
Of course, the things we like to do most when we meet is - sit and TALK!!!!
