OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Lisa

I am in Dallas and did not go when my son left 4 years ago. He did not want me to go, as like you I would be crying. After he checked into the hotel, he was able to meet us for dinner. All the family that was in town came for dinner (Dave & Busters). I had to take a book back to him at the hotel so I got see him just before lights out. He did call me just before he left his room that morning.
Yes I wanted to be there, but at his request I did not. I am sure that it would have been rough for him also if I had been there. It does make attending the PIR that much sweeter.

I am near Beaumont - we only got alot of wind and rain. I did not even lose my electricity. (anyone need some canned chicken or bottled water?) My sister did - in a brand new house just a few miles from me!! Ug - no airconditioner would be the worse thing!! Some streets are flooded and the big bridges were closed between here and Louisiana - but I don't think there was too much "real" damage. It never turned into a hurricane like expected - it just stayed a tropical storm!!
