Cynthia, the town wasn't Pistol. I drove back to Conroe for Father's day this week-end and drove by Coldspring.
this town before you get to Willis is called -
"POINT BLANK". I love that name.
When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns.....

OK Cynthia, Cut N shoot is on 105 right before I get to Conroe where my folks live. Theres a couple of elephants on the right, right after the cut n shoot police station. Weird. You mentioned Gun Barrel City, but there's also a Pistol something around New Waverly, Coldspring, and/or Onalaska. There is a Reklaw (which is walker spelled backwards) Lots of gun cities.
And there's Bootleg tee hee and
Goodnight

Hi, Toni. I've lived in Arlington. In 77-80 in some apts on Collins by UTA. Then I worked there in 87-90. Do you remember when the Olive Garden used to be in front of the old Ranger stadium and O'chaufalyas? I cannot spell that cajun restaurants name. It was on 30 across the frwy from the waterpark. Grew up in Hurst and went to visit Arlington a couple years ago. My goodness, I got lost!

Hello Texas Mom (and Texas Mom’s wanna be’s) -
I am going to start the planning stages of having a get together for all who can attend. It would really be fun to meet one another!!
I want as many as possible to attend. Therefore, I want to try to get the best time and city. Please go to my page to reply to the comment with the answers to the following questions.
(1) Location - I will get back later today with a run down of how many from each city. You could reply to this such as, “I live in Houston - but am willing to go to Austin” etc.
(2) Time - Weekend or weekday? - May, June or July? - please list specific times that you cannot attend - for example my family reunion is the 20, 21, and 22 of June.
(3) Ideas - especially if you live in one of the central cities (Houston or Austin). Do we just want a dinner together one long evening - attend an event - I would love to be able to participate in a parade on Memorial day together somewhere!!! HELP!!!! I really think just spending one long evening in a restaurant is fine and then we could go from there!!
(4) Any other suggestions - please list ideas!!!!
Just go to my page - “Brenda Bourque” and comment back - I am putting this in a blog on my page - Please comment back to the blog!!!!
Thanks, Brenda Bourque - Proud Mom of Derek who is heading to Guam - and all plans will be cancelled when he comes in!!!!

Marjie:
Our PIR was 4/18. Our son was sick the entire 2 months with a sinus infection. Then he had 3 ingrown hairs. He had to keep going back to get them flushed. I was worried he would get the staff, but they had it under control. He never got his sinus infection fixed, but when we got there, my husband and I got sick on Saturday and Sunday couldn't even breathe. I hate allergies. like everyone else - after PIR, ate and went back to the hotel to sleep? right?

Hi Lisa! Fort Worth is a GREAT place to be!!! The best museums are around Will Rogers between University and Montgomery, and you could spend weeks on the North side around Main and Exchange. Is he going to school there??

Maybe you've already heard this, its mosly about southerners in general.

Your fences need to be horse high, pig tight and bull strong.
Keep skunks and bankers and lawyers at a distance.
Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.
A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.
Words that soak into your ears are whispered … not yelled.
Meanness don’t jes’ happen overnight.
Forgive your enemies. It messes up their heads.
Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.
It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.
You cannot unsay a cruel word.
Every path has a few puddles.
When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.
The best sermons are lived, not preached.
Most of the stuff people worry about ain’t never gonna happen anyway.
Don’t judge folks by their relatives.
Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time.
Don’t interfere with something that ain’t botherin you none.
Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.
If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.
Sometimes you get, and sometime you get got.
The biggest trouble maker you’ll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every morning.
Always drink upstream for the herd.
Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.
Lettin the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than putting it back in.
If you get to think you’re a person of some influence, try orderin somebody elses’ dog around.
Live Simply. Love generously, care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Thanks - I am asking the administrator about that now.

Yes - one house in my neighborhood has his front yard covered in bluebonnets - it is beautiful. I usually go west toward San Antonio and see a bunch!! Haven't been this year.

How 'bout these?
Words to the wise, if you are new to Texas.

Save all manner of bacon grease. You will be instructed later how to use it.

Just because you can drive on snow doesn't mean we can. Stay home the 2 days out of each decade that it snows.

Get used to hearing, Y'all ain't from around here, are you?

If you hear a good ol' boy say, "Hey ya'll watch this", get out of the way. Its likely the last words he'll ever say.

Get used to hearing in the dog days of summer these two phrases,
"Its not the heat, its the humidity", and "You think its hot now, wait til August".

Brisket is not "cooked" in an oven.

Rocky mountain oysters are not oysters. Don't ask. Don't eat 'em.

The value of a parking space isn't determined by how close it is to the door, but by the availability of shade.

Tea has ice in it. Always. Coffee never does. (I like it)

You can put ranch dressing on anything and make it taste better.

Coldbeer is one word.

Never say anything bad about Tom Landry or Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Learn to say Yes Sir and No Maam to anyone older than you. If you're smart, you'll say it to everyone except teen-agers.

The state from which Ted Kennedy hails is pronounced Massatoosets down here.

If it comes in a can and isn't coldbeer, its called Coke even if its a Sprite. And Dr. Pepper is the preferred soft drink.

Best peel that Gore 2000 sticker off your car. He isn't goin to win Texas. (This here musta been 8 yrs ago ya think?)

Men should never wear a Speedo to the swimmin pool.

Even rich folks have water bugs in their house. Killin them is great sport but won't cut down on the population significantly.

Its pronounced "faraints." You can spend a fortune tryin to poison them, or you can just mow the mounds over and get on with life.

Its considered common courtesy to pull over on the shoulder on a two-lane road to let someone pass you, even if you're goin 10 miles over the speed limit.

If the above occurs, be careful about displaying rude hand signals. Most Texans are armed.

You can make fun of a lot of things in Texas, like politicians, environmentalists, but don't make fun of mothers or high school football.

There are four seasons in Texas. December, January, February and summer.

Don't be surprised to find video rentals and bait in the same store.

and last, remember this above all else. You're the one with the accent. Ya'll come back now, ya here?
