I am asking for Prayers for a Navy Moms friend of mine. Her name on N4Ms is Peaches and her son was shot sometime today or yesterday. I don't know where he was or if it was work related. He is assigned to a boat in Norfolk, I think. The OK Navy Moms group just received a message from her that she was headed to _____ because her son was shot.
Please pray for Travel Mercies/Protection for her family; Comfort/Strength also. Health/Healing and Wisdom for the Doctors for her Sailor. I will let you know if I receive any more information.
Thank you!
Wyobraskamom- The box is not very big. I would not send a very big bible, maybe 5X7 or 6X8. They also have other things to keep in the box. You should send him a couple of pictures of family also.
That is awesome about St. Michael! Answered Prayers are AWESOME!
Wyobraskamom - My son, B, wore a cross when he left for BC 3/16. He got to keep that because it was no bigger than a dog tag. Also, for graduation from high school, we bought him a Navy Sailor's Bible. Go to Amazon.com and search Navy Sailor Bible - it'll come up. They have them also for Army, Marines, etc. He was able to keep that with him too. The actual Bible is about 5x7 or so, but they can keep that. The cost was $16.00 plus shipping. It'll be worth it! Good luck for the next many months. My son was in DEP for 18 months before he finally shipped. He DEPed in his senior year, graduated June 2010 and FINALLY shipped 3 weeks ago! I am thankful I had that extra time with him and that God had time to work on him too!
I am a new Navy mom and was so happy to find this group. My son leaves for BC in November of 2011. I think I saw that my son would be able to wear his religous medal is that true? Also how big is the personal box that they have in BC? We would like to get him a new bible before he goes but aren't sure what will fit.
I also just have to share a person experience on this group and St. Michael. I was really afraid about my son going to the Navy and have been praying for a sign that he made the right decision. I reluctantly got onto n4ms about a month ago and I found this group. I then came to realize that St. Michael is the patron saint of sailors. St. Michael happens to be my sons patron saint from confirmation. That was enough for me and I now feel more at peace that this is what God wants for my son. Thank you God for hearing my prayers! Can't wait to hear from some of you.
Ash's Mom (Ship 7 Div 105) - Got the answer I was looking for! My son called today and after choking back some "happy" tears, I got to ask some questions. One of the questions was about the Chapel service. He said he had been going with about 5-6 of his division guys and "felt like he was home". He said it's a great chapel time.
He also told me the other night after Revely, he felt like God impressed on him to read scripture to his division. He said he read Romans 12 to them and also Psalm 27. One guy came up to him later and told him that he appreciated Psalm 27, cuz he had been having trouble sleeping and he was able to sleep after that.
I am so thankful and proud that Brad is listening to the Lord and acting on what he's being prompted to do by the Holy Spirit. I pray that this continues and that Brad continues to stay grounded in his faith.
Thank you for your prayers!
Congrats cocojazz! Awesome news!
Will pray for healing for the recruits. Being in such close contact is not a good way to stay healthy, but what can you do! Hope your son is well by PIR so he can enjoy the day and your visit.
Thank God!!! He made it through. Sounds like his div did real well.... scored something like a 4.8 out of 5. I guess sickness has been a real problem with a bunch of the guys and girls. Pray for healing bodies and strong defenses. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
