Yes, God Bless our servicemen and women. They need our prayers. We need prayers too since it is a hard time for moms/grandmas. I`m sure 3 weeks is a long time for you to wait to hear from your son. I am so thankful for email. Every now and then my grandson and I are on at the same time, so I really enjoy that. Just think of those relatives of the past who had to wait for letters!

Sobe and Sheryl - I am so pleased to your sons' testimony about the prayer huddles. My son is on ship 9, Div 228, so I hope he also has found guys to huddle. He did mention in his phone call that he has been studying about the Apostle Paul. It was at the end of the call, so I was not able to ask if he was reading on his own or studying with a group. I am praying that he will meet make friend with other believers and that he will be a godly influence. God bless all you/us praying mothers. "The powerful and effectual prayers of a godly [mother] availeth much!" James 5:16

Bless you all. I joined N4M yesterday, and found this group today. My son Samuel -PIR 6/18, Ship 9 Div 220- has followed our Lord's leading at GL RTC.
I'm so encouraged by his letters!
He is discovering that sharing the gospel requires not only willingness & boldness, but much prayer. His requests to pray for individuals and for unity among the divisions has been taken up by many!
Praise Him! He cares for each!

Goodmorning all!! 4 more days!!PIR. I thank God for all that he has done in everyones life here. For seeing our Recruits thru BC and giving the strength to endure. And now becoming Sailors...Praise God.. I want to also thank you all for just taking the timeout to be here, sometimes we get so caught up into ourselves and what we are going thru, that we dont reach out to others. So thank you Lord for allowing these Mothers of Faith to be here: loving thy neighbor, Thank you, Bless each and everyone of you. Looking forward to meeting everyone M&G.

Thank you Cheryl - I need to share the best thing that he experienced! He found a small group of "brothers" who would huddle and pray together each night before tattoo time. They always invited guys around them to join in and didn't get very many takers. But he noticed that a lot of them were listening, and then listening more as the weeks progressed. They always prayed for ALL the guys there - which Brandon felt made them smile. If just one of them heard the "good news" of our Savior, Brandon is confident that God will work miracles with the seed that was planted.

The language in those barracks is all they say it is. The quote "A Sailor's mouth" is not an understatement. Brandon just had to block that out, but he was concerned about his "old self" creeping back out - and was constantly tempted to join in.

Thank you Cheryl. This is a new experience to me. We raised 4 kids, and went through the "letting" go and "empty nest" stages. However, this is the first time a loved one has been in the service and deployed overseas to a war zone. I am so thankful my grandson is a Christian. That makes all the difference in the world.

I am new to this group, wish I had found it weeks ago. I use humor to relieve my stress, but prayer is soooo much better - and it always works too but in His time, not always mine! My son has PIR in 4 days and I am so proud of him. He had a few rough weeks and we just kept reminding him to pray for everyone in his division - that they need to work together as a team. He likes the worship music they have at services on Sunday too. My prayers are with the other divisions doing BS-21 tonight in our PIR group - may God grant them the wisdom and energy to complete this final exercise. New Moms - hang in there, we are here for you!

I am new to this group. My grandson is a Navy Riverine deployed to Iraq. He has only been there about a month or so. It is very scary, but I am glad I have the Lord to strengthen me. I think the Navy for Moms site is one thing God uses to help give us encouragement. It is so good to talk to others who are having the same feelings as I am.
