Please pray for the family of Sailor Jackson Cone (a 27 yr. old corpsman). He died after being hit by a car while riding his bicycle at Camp Pendleton this week.

Wishing all Veterans past, present and future a very Happy Memorial Day. Thank you for serving (and your families for standing beside you) and May God Bless you in the years to come.

Battlestations Tonight! Lord, please keep these young men and women safe. And let them always be close to you. As I pray for my young son, I will also remember the young men and women who are just arriving on this challenging adventure.

Thanks Marie, it was tough but now we are counting down for the first letter/call. Each week will be a step closer to something better. I thank God each day for those who offer support on this site. It has been an amazing crutch and a blessing.

Tough day, but The Lord delivered grace and now there is a peace. Tomorrow our son departs for BC. I am so proud, but also wishing we had another week or 2 and prayer helps me cope during difficult changes. God is so good, He gave me a smile to share as the recruiter drove off to deliver my son to MEPS today.

Docsangel.....that is an awesome poem. It perfectly describes us moms who have given our sons and daughters to the US Military. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Hi Moms! I wanted to share this poem with you this morning. I have had it hanging on my wall for years but just this morning it got my attention as if God was reminding me of the awesome role He has allowed me to play in my son's life. I hope it encourages you as it did me:

The Warrior by Larry S. Clark
This morning my thoughts traveled along
To a place in my life where days have since gone,
Beholding an image of what I used to be
As visions were stired and God spoke to me.

He showed me a Warrior, a soldier in place
Positioned by heaven yet I saw not the face
I watched as the Warrior fought enemies
That came from the darkness with distruction for me.

I saw as the Warrior would dry away tears
As all of heaven’s angels hovered so near
I saw many wounds on the Warrior’s face
Yet weapons of warfare were firmly in place.

I felt my heart weeping, my eyes held so much
As God let me feel the Warrior’s prayer touched
I thought “how familiar”the words that were prayed.
The prayers were like lightening that would never fade.

I said to God “Please, the Warrior’s name?”
He gave no reply, He chose to refrain,
I asked “Lord, who is broken that they need such prayer?”
He showed me an image of myself standing there.

Bound by confusion, lost and alone
I felt prayers of the Warrior carry me home.
I asked “Please show me Lord, this Warrior so true”
I watched and I wept,
for Mother…
the Warrior-was you!
