Asking prayers for my son. He has been in since 2011, got stationed in Pearl Harbor right out of A school and is supposed to be there the rest of his time.Well, today I get a text from him out of the blue that says "There is an IA available in Afghanistan and I am putting in for it" Kind of in shock right now, don't know what to think. I understand how he feels but very concerned because he tends to jump into things and not think them through. Please pray wisdom for him and peace for his Dad and I.

Maybe we can get a jump on praying for those taking the advancement test this time.  My son Andrew has been a GM2 for years--he wants and needs the GM1 so much!  Please pray for his success this time!

Here's an update on the young man whose sister is in the Navy.  It sounds very bad. He has 2 broken legs, broken ankle, broken ribs, punctured spleen, and they are not sure if they will be able to save one of his legs. Four surgeries so far. Please pray for Jake in ICU at Iowa City.

chergui53, than you for your kind words.  I don't know what I would do without this site and all you wonderful ladies!  It is so wonderful to be able to come here and know that you all are going through or have been through the same thing!  I am praying for my son daily, for strength and endurance.  It's not the physical part of this that I'm worried about, as he is in great physical shape.  It's the mental part of BC that has me a little concerned.  I know that God is watching over him, though, and that brings me peace.  Thank you for your prayers and I am keeping your son in mine.  Is he doing any better after his oral surgery?  By the way, I received my kid in a box today.  It was so wonderful to touch things that he recently touched:)

Once more I'm here asking for you and all your friends to pray.  A 19 year old young man is in serious condition in Iowa City after being flown there as a result of an accident.  A semi crossed the centerline on US 30 and hit a cement truck and then Jake's car.  I don't know the extent of the injuries, but since he was airlifted and then had surgery, it is very serious.  His mom is a friend of mine and his sister is in the Navy in Norfolk.

My husband and I watched our son swear in before he left for Chicago this morning.  We are so proud of him.  It was still hard to watch him being driven away.  I am so thankful for this site and all of you ladies to help me through all of this!  I know that God will watch over him:)

Hi XRay.  We pray that the Lord, Jesus, brings all of us peace.  My son has been in the Navy since Oct, and I'm still crying on a daily basis.  I don't know why?  I know that our Lord will be with our loved ones as they serve our country.  But, it is so very hard.  We must all trust in God.  Talk about crying....every time I tell someone about Aaron and what his assignment is, I start to tear-up, and then they just turn away from me.  Many people don't understand.  But, we do have our faith, our Savior, and each other.  X-ray, you and your son will be in my prayers.

Please keep Aaron in your prayers as he is not healing that well after his oral surgery.  Thank you.

I just dropped my son off at the Recruiter's office in Grand Rapids.  He leaves from Lansing to go to GL tomorrow.  My husband and I will go watch him be sworn in before he leaves.  Even though I know I will see him tomorrow morning, I cried the whole way to the recruiter's.  He needed to stop at the bank and asked if I would run to Subway and pick up his favorite sub for him.  I broke down in Subway.  Bless those two lady's hearts who were working!  They said "oh!  He was in yesterday.  He's such a nice boy!  We will pray for him."  They got all teary eyed too.  I'm glad there were not any other customers in there!!
