Pray for the sailors on the USS John McCain possibly going after the North Korean ship.

Marie: Yes, you both must be terrified. Remember one thing though, spend as much time together as you can. She doesn't need much in boot camp, she just needs your love and support right now. And if you calm down and relax so will she. Tell her I would have much rather had a last minute call then to watch my Sailor go through "counting down the days". It takes a toll on them when they are in DEP that long and they know that day is coming. Blessings to both of you and pop in here as much as you need to. We're here for you. Just love her to pieces while you have her... :)

Just found this:

Religious medals represent the faith and belief of a person. Medals are usually metal tokens which feature a unique significance. Religious medals characterize the symbols and practices which reflect the belief of a particular religion. Religious medals are common in polytheistic beliefs like Hinduism. Catholics also give special importance to religious medals. The medals are also prevalent in other religious societies such as Buddhism.

I didn't like the name change either but at least we didn't have to get rid of the picture of the St. Michael's medal. I think that will be a sign for any Catholic that is looking for a Catholic group. I don't think any of the other religions wear religious medals for saints. My son wears that exact medal as well as his St. Matthew medal.

I have not been on in a while, so I am surprised to see the new name!
I have read "The Shack" twice, I think it is amazing. I also have passed around to everyone I know!

Are the public libraries carrying the book?

Great! This group has been so supportive of each other I don't think we will have any problems at all. I love coming here because I know I can count on these ladies.

Kat -
As a title of a group, no, but you can state that you are a Catholic or that you're posting a Catholic prayer. As long as you stay true to the purpose of this group as a prayer/support group and do not belittle others for their beliefs if different or claim superiority, the group can stay and I don't think you'll have any issues.

Is the word Catholic not permitted? I am afraid that someone will come to the site not knowing it is basically a Catholic site and take offense. Then we will be in the same boat the political sites are in with the reporting and name calling. It seems that since we all have family members in the military we should be each other's support but when it comes to religion and politics that NEVER happens.

I hope they don't make us change the name. I love it!
