Lori: Have your son give you the email address for the ship's ombudsman. The ombudsman will keep you informed of all homecoming events such as how to get on base, the pier #, etc. You might find the ombudsman email address by going to the ship's website.

Hey Tucson moms, Mary from Florida is working with Uno's Chicago Pizza on a "sailor" drive for supplies for Molly's adopt a sailor project. They will collect supplies that we can mail to the sailors. Molly will need moms in every city to pick up the stuff and mail.
Is anyone interested in doing that? There's an Uno's on Oracle, close to El Conquistador. My plate is pretty full with HAE, so thought I'd throw out to you all.
Check out Molly's page on the main thread.

Shawn was just pinned a Chief Petty Officer last week. So now you can call him 'Chief White'. He's not an officer, he's enlisted.

The DEP Zone Meeting will be held at Ramada #19

I wonder if Scott Kilbury will do it.
Melissa, I met recruiter White yesterday. I stopped in to get some carrier posters and he was very helpful. He asked me if I knew you and I said that I did.
My boy came to one of the afterschool care programs that I work in while he was here. I brought in my toy aircraft carrier and we (the kids) made carriers out of "treasures" -trash really, that I collect. They turned out great, Ben made them paper airplanes and towers.
Anyway, I said I would give an emblem from the Blue Blasters away that day, but my husband wouldn't let me! yikes, talk about egg on your face.
So I got them some carriers posters-really nice about 8 1/2 x 11 and handed them out yesterday. Officer White was so nice and helpful.

Laura & Joyce: I just got off the phone with Scott and if KOLD wants a spokesperson for N4M you have my number. If they want recruiting info or stats, I'll refer them to Scott.

There is a DEP Zone Meeting Saturday October 3rd, Reid Park, 9am. I'll post the ramada # tomorrow!!

Laura, thanks a million for setting this up!
