Hope every one has a great and safe weekend.  I will be making Gumbo tonight with a marathon of Game of Thrones with friends.  Monday will be a full day of Memorial day ceremonies and BBQ to end the day.

I hope everyone has a good weekend also, an email would make it a wonderful weekend. I agree with you kbean611 Memorial Day does mean alot more to me than  just the beginning of summer trips or cookouts. I am very proud of my son, it took courage for him to do what he is doing. He is a remarkable person, I miss him so much. Praying for emails for all of us!

Have a good weekend everyone! Hoping for an email to come soon!! Memorial Day sure means a lot more to me now than it used to. So thankful for those that are willing to serve, and personally, I am so proud of my sailor who like all of the rest of your sailors is willing to take the more challenging path of life to be of service and help to protect our country! :)

Oh, I wish I lived close to his family, but I just live near the beach they're going to! They live in a different state.

The bounce-back e-mail comes when your e-mail sends in more than plain text- for instance, I use gmail which sends as html. The server converts it to plain text and then sends a "modified e-mail" message to me because they do that when they don't send your exact e-mail out.

It doesn't necessarily mean the sailor actually gets the e-mail, it just means it was sent to the ship's server to be pre-read, etc, but you at least know it's in the queue to be read!

You get a message back from the boat that says that they got them.  It will come back from csl-postmaster that is when I know that they have gotten them.  Navy MomLG congrats to your son on his passing I don't know what his rate is but he will be a Petty Officer 2nd class, so if he is a radioman like my son it will be ET2 .  My son will be taking the test for his E6 this fall.  He says he might not get in on the first run but I thinks he will get it before he makes 10 years.

Comment by donnab on May 23, 2013 at 9:17am

Kathy, How do you send your emails, so that you can see that your son got them?

Good morning everyone, I had to check in a share some good news.  I found out last night that my son passed the E5 advancement exam!  So proud of him! And Lin, I think that officially makes him your son's new room mate (unless I am totally confused about who he has been talking too!).  Kathy, glad to hear your outgoing emails were picked up, and hope that means all of you Gold Crew'ers will be hearing from your sailors soon!  Wow, lots of exclamation points today, sorry about that.

Mimmie it is good you have his family near by, were are you living.  It also looks like the guys came up for air, because it looks like my son got some of his emails I sent him.

I'm headed out to the beach this next week with my boyfriend's family. I wish he was here to join us, but I'm sure we'll have fun.
