I have heard from a lot of the communication on the Navy for Mom's site discussing how cold it is in the sleeping areas on the ships-are they allowed to have blankets from home? Are they allowed to…Continue

Was wondering if anyone knows the exact information of when the Anzio is returning
My son has been on the Azio for 2 years...the ship is in a 'repair' stage..My son is an OSS(SW) there....it is a great ship and a great bunch of guys/gals..Good luck to your sailors going there!
Yes, it was scheduled for decommissioning, but has been repaired to the point that it is now scheduled for deployment sometime next year (late?). Don't remember when for sure and even if I did, I wouldn't say it in such a public forum.
Hi ssbeach. I am a mom of a son on this ship. He reported there on 11/18/13, so he has not been there very long. I may not have that many answers either but Welcome Aboard.
I am, ssbeach. Although I am not a mom, but a mom-in-law. Don't have a lot of answers to questions, but I know a guy (whose been on the ship for a couple of years almost) who will have the answers.
Hello, I'm new here, My son has just join the ship this weekend! I didnt know that he would be living on it while it was docked! he told me that the ship will be discommision, what does this mean for him? will he get a new ship? also he is newly married and he is trying to find a place for them. any ideas? he would like to stay close to norfolk because of the driving. but we here norfolk is not the place to live!
We are at the LaQuinta, 1387 Military Hwy, Norfolk. My son lives within 5 miles of this location. We stayed here in July when we were up visiting other friends and checking on my son's house.
See y'all on the Pier.
