Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I decided to start this group to see who else may have a Sailor on this ship; or heading to this ship.

Granted, we may be a bit limited to what we can discuss openly online, but if nothing else, may be a good way to connect and network off-line as well.

Make sure to not disclose advance ship movements or other OPSEC issues.

My son is an FC2 on this ship.

Comment by ckmom on February 4, 2012 at 5:03am: got a call from my son while getting my nails done. I was so surprise to see his name come across my cell phone. I shouted omg it's Curtis open my phone, of course my nails just got done with the 1st. coat, and I still have an antique phone. lol This was the 1st time I heard his voice since he left in March. I was on Cloud 9 the rest of the day!! :-)) Getting ready for Homecoming, got the sign done, got my nails done,got the car serviced for the long drive, got his room all ready for him to have a good night sleep in a nice cozy bed. Leaving Sunday for Norfolk, can't wait!!

Those that are traveling safe travels to you and have a BLAST seeing your Sailor! Prayers will be going out for safe travels to all!!

Havent heard from him for a bit, says he was leaving the phones and internet for those with wives and kids at home who had been gone much longer than he. Love this guy!! I am excited for all of you getting to see your sailors soon. This is not my turn, but it will come.
