USS Bataan LHD-5

Group for family members of Sailors who are on the USS Bataan (LHD-5)

Members: 144

I decided to start this group to see who else may have a Sailor on this ship; or heading to this ship.

Granted, we may be a bit limited to what we can discuss openly online, but if nothing else, may be a good way to connect and network off-line as well.

Make sure to not disclose advance ship movements or other OPSEC issues.

My son is an FC2 on this ship.

I was going to mail his x-mas box on dec.1st. but my son said that would be to late.  So now I'm getting his box together and making him his favorite cookies and waiting for his gift to come in so i can mail his box off.  I did order him a Navy Camosock socking for X-mas and going to fill it with little things.  Sandra AM gave me the web sight. the sock came in quick and awesome. I think he will really like it. go to www.camosock.com .   He wanted the Kindle Fire so that is what I'm waiting on.   Then I'll mail his package off.

Is anyone doing the Tiger Cruise?

Has anyone started Christmas shopping for their sailor? Want to make sure he gets his Christmas box on time but have no ideas. I'm not that creative so was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas.

@ Joro great Christmas ideas!  DVD's are a great idea too thanks CathyA.  My son was telling me the other day that he had the opportunity to get up on deck at night, he laid down on the deck floor and looked up at the sky...said it was the most spectacular sight he had ever seen, the stars are so close and beautiful....made him feel a little closer to home.  His experiences are just awesome to me.
