That is so neat, Mary. I thought for sure since we had that ordeal with Hunter's flight that he would be by himself, but so glad he's not! Big thanks to Jesse for "taking care" of my boy. Hehe. So excited seeing their fb posts about progress. Hope that's not against opsec.
Conrats, tina! A boy!

It's almost here!!  I love it that Jesse is flying all the way back to the states with Hunter! They have been together since they left Sasebo. Jesse loves his "Momma Hunter" :)    Emotions and excitement and anticipation running high! Know what everyone means about how we feel about these sailors of ours. It's been hitting me out of nowhere when I think about it. Grocery store, driving to work. get teary and excited, and just can't believe the day is really almost here!!  Love ya all very much. and thank you for your support. This place we have here is very special.

Loving all the feedback ladies :) It keeps me laughing or crying....What can I say, I'm an emotional mess right now. I'm very worried about my son's flight. I have asked him several times to send me his flight info, and he still has not sent it. Asked him again this morning and still nothing.......I can't help but to worry.

Guess it's in Gods hands or the Navy's...

Rolltidemom, have you connected with Austins mom?

Hope all of you from the mid-west enjoy a nice cool Christmas - It's hitting the mid 80's  and very humid here in FL....If it keeps up, our kids will be swimming on Christmas :)

Yes he does! How exciting. Anthony had me on speaker the other evening and I was giving them all a hard time about their behavior. Told them they better watch out b/c I was going to track down their moms on N4M...LOL

Is Brolin coming home for Christmas this year? Hope so :)

We'll definitely have to stay in touch!

True Blue, I think my son, Brolin, is friends with your son Anthony- Does he go by the name "Gio"?  Brolin is staying at an apartment off base with Austin and Gio.

wow, trueblue, how did he get out so early to be there friday morning?  i'm jealous!  haha  just kidding, great for him!  probably because hunter didn't know when he could leave or didn't ASK!!!  he won't be in 'til the eve.

i LOVE this sight, love the rambling, etc...my hubby just doesn't understand the need to share emotional stuff like this.  i doubt if he'll join me in the middle of the night when i just stare at hunter...he'll think i'm going crazy.  oh well, we love our kids and we can show it however we want!!!  :)

i wonder if hunter will be surprised because his room is pretty much like he left it when he left for sasebo.  i'm kinda afraid to see what all is in there.

ooooh...ladies...your posts bring tears of joy for you!  True Blue...love the "rambling."  This site is great isn't it!!!!  It will be the BEST!  Each time Josh has been home, I have to remind myself to stay in the moment and push away the thoughts of that farewell that comes way too soon!  I always think it will get easier and no matter how hard I try, the tears always come...when I have to watch him say farewell to his buddies and family members...and then of course at the airport!  Ugh...making myself cry :-)

I'll be looking forward to your homecoming stories!

Take care,

Cathy

We're at 4 days and counting too! Anthony should arrive in Orlando very early Friday morning.....although I'm still waiting for him to send me his flight details....

I'm so excited/anxious to see him (and all of his new tattoos), I swear, I'm constantly on the verge of tears - happy ones b/c he'll be home and I'm fighting back the ~ he leaves the day after Christmas tears~

Even though I know joining the Navy was the best thing for him, the mommy in me has a hard time letting go. I pray that when he leaves this time, I  get my emotions under control - b/c when he first left, 2 yrs ago), it was very difficult on me...crying everyday...blah blah blah...definitely was not good for his younger sisters, or my husband, (who grew up in a military family), and really supported and pushed my son towards the Navy - I'm pretty sure my poor hubby carried a bit of guilt/remorse or whatever, b/c of my out of control emotional state.

I promise I'm not officially crazy...LOL...just overly emotional when it comes to my kids. Especially my son. We are very close - he was the kind of kid that in high school, late teens, would still give me hugs and kisses. Whenever/where-ever....unlike my teenage girls ;)

From his FB page, it looks like he and the boys are partying down b4 he leaves -_-

Last time I spoke with him he said that all he wants to do is stay at home with his family (and dog), and let everyone come over to our house to visit.

LOL - told my other kids not to expect a lot of gifts this year - pretty sure our grocery bill is going to be outrageous!

Enough of my rambling. I could go on for hours! This site is kind of like keeping a journal. It's a great place to vent, share, celebrate our experiences as proud parents.

Quite frankly, I don't think most civilians understand or appreciate the sacrifices our loved ones make for our country. Nor do they understand the sacrifices of military Moms, Dads.Brothers, Sisters and spouses.

God Bless ~ Praying for a Safe and Happy Holiday Season for All.

4 DAYS!!!!  can you tell i'm just a little excited!!!????  pick up at airport in early eve, going to be japan's morning...we are waiting to see what hunter will want to do.  i would love to take him somewhere with friends and fam, but i'm thinking he will just want to go home, and that's fine, too.  don't really care, just praying he makes it safely!!!

i would love to sit and listen to all his stories and see his pix.  whatever he wants is fine with me.

i called cheapoair this morning to make sure his arrangements are good, because i saw on our credit card statement, a charge of under $100--not the whole thing.  they said that was for the insurance and tax, and that the whole amount should show up in a couple days.  still, just makes me nervous.  i'm sure all nervousness will go away when i hear that he has left sasebo, and actually see his face in the airport!!!  :)

hope all get to hear from their Sailors, at least, if you're not seeing them.  take care, all!
