Welcome home, Wolf Pack!

My son called from the ship. It's one of the perks of his rate--he works in the radio room! Also a perk for me :)

Thanks for the link Mnamy. I was wondering what cell phone carrier your sailors r using to communicate from over seas. U all having any connection problems?

I got a nice long call from my son today. He says the "touring" part of their deployment seems to be over for a while as they have moved to a different part of the world and have a new goal. It sounds like the intensity has ramped up a bit, but he is feeling confident and safe. Quite the change in weather from the last time I talked to him!

Also, I did want to share a link with you. This is how I keep up to date on where they've been (but not where they're going, of course): USS Bulkeley history

Hello ladies. Hope everyone got a call today.  Seems like we're in this for a "long haul". Deployment is tough for everyone, but we just need to continue to pray for our sailors n encourage them. May God protect them n may the Spirit enlighten n guide them. Amen

Hello ladies. Spoke to my son today!!! Yay! Hope everyone communicates with their sailors. We only have a few days to hear their voices, their stories, their adventures...May God Almighty continue to bless them, guide them n protect them. Amen

TexasNavyProud. I'm so glad you got a chance to talk to your son. It's borderbitte hearing their voices. Part of you is excited and wants to hear about all their "adventures", but part of you misses them so much. We're here to help each other while we're on this unpredictable Navy rollercoaster ride of emotions and experiences. That's why we hold on tight to our faith. God bless you n yours, too.

1underGod, thank you so much for the info. It's funny.  I posted this message in desperation and then out of the blue heard from my son.  I did get his email address but knowing about Facebook and using messenger is a huge help.  I didn't know they had access to that.  Thanks again and god bless you and your family.

Hello TexasNavyProud. My son is also on the USS Bulkeley DDG 84 since they deployed. They can communicate via email while at sea. But, my son usually communicates using Messenger because it's the most efficient nn quick way. You need aa Facebook account to use Messenger. Now that they r on land, my son calls us whenever he has access to WiFi because  our cell phone provider doesn't have roaming services internationally. Hope this helps. God bless.

May I ask fellow moms out there: how do you stay in contact with your kids?  I go months without hearing from my son.  He's on the USS Bulkeley and I know when he is out to sea he can't/doesn't get text messages and stuff like that.  Do they have access to email?  Thanks for any info you can give me!
