My daughter's time on the Bunker Hill is coming to an end..she is at the end of her orders and then on to shore duty. Thank you to other mothers that I've shared thoughts with, especially Mary C. I'll miss visiting SanDiego. New base is just a little too far for me,but not out of the question.Take care and hold good thoughts.
Hi Mary, and everyone; This will be my last post here. My son is no longer in the Navy! Thanks for all the support while he was overseas - I agree with Mary, it is good to see other moms waiting for news of the kids. My son is not on his way home yet. His plans are to set up residence in Florida, so he will be driving cross country to the Tampa area this week sometime. And maybe come home to visit. I am glad he had this experience, but time for him to move on now. Off to college for him!
My son got 3 packages for Easter. The first one was just because. The second one was because I forgot to put one thing in the first and he wanted peeps too. The third one was because the first package got lost (a first for me). I put a trace on the first one and he got that one just a day or two before he got the third one. What a lucky guy. Besides a visit last year, the only other contact is texting. He has always been fairly secretive to mom and dad. But he loves his packages!
Hi Mary, Seems that while they are at home the need to connect isn't as strong. We were just in SD last week and had a great visit.Weather was great. Hope all is well with you and your family
You are truely blessed. :)
I know what you mean! I visitied this summer, but he was on duty all weekend we were there. We did get to see him a few minutes.
DS - My son has been on the BH for a little over a year. SD is nice. I enjoyed my visit there this summer. Good luck to your and your son!
Welcome to the group DS. Where will your son be coming from? Boot or another place?
