Thanks for sharing the newsletter. I checked each pic for my son, but no luck. Although he might have been there - they are all dressed alike! LOL

Thanks for sharing the video.  My son just forwarded me the ship newsletter...wow!  Love all the photos!  I hadn't seen the newsletter before.  In case somebody hasn't seen it, here it is:

Merry Christmas Moms! My daughter called this morning..for them it's about bedtime on Christmas Eve.She sounded fine.I hope everyone is doing well and has a wonderful Christmas.Next year at this time they should be cozy in their own homes. Peace to all.

First port of call sounded pretty cool.  My sailor posted some beautiful pictures on facebook.  He's also been posting a few tweets which have been a nice way to know he's doing OK.  Hope you all are ready for Christmas - this is our first one with two out of three kids away from home.  A little odd, but trying not to dwell on it.  Life is all about change.  I'm grateful everyone is healthy and doing what they want.  Christmas peace and blessings to you all!

I heard from my son Joe today. He sounds more relaxed after a few days in port and a chance to go sightseeing. No mention of getting a box, so maybe next port of call. I like Sue's idea of Christmas reporting. Does everyone have an Uncle Blank and Aunt Blah blah? I think so.. How funny! I guess we moms are still in training too. Thanks Chaplain Jim for being there.

Mom's, The safety of our sailors is a huge effort when pulling into a port. We always ensure that sailors go out with a liberty buddy and most go out as groups of buddies.

We do indeed have a community service project planned. You'll see more of that in a later newsletter.

We certainly miss not being home for Christmas, but we'll make due out here.  I have plans for some Christmas carolling around the ship and we have some gifts to give out.

I hope all of you have a blessed Christmas.  If you have any concerns about your sailor please know that you can send me a private message.  Have a great weekend!

It's Navy.mil  It's updated almost every day and they seem to like following the CV so at least I know something "by proxy" if nothing else.

Cindy-Molly's Mom....do you have that link from the Navy site for this info...I'd like to take a gander at that once in a while.

I actually talk to her on facebook quite a bit...and she has called like every 4rth day. She gets teased all the time that she's always on the phone....One guy yelled out to her'''geez, you only left port yesterday and you are calling already".

I heard him say that and she just told him to "shut up" . she well, kinda not such

tender words...a bit more harsh...she has gotten quite the  "trash" mouth in the past 7 months. But I still love her....if it's not directed at me than I'll get over it.

yeah, I hope they get their packages before Christmas...I sent her a Charlie Brown Christmas tree for her and her Bunk mates to enjoy! fit right in those

Flat rate FPO boxes from the USmail. And all kinds of other stuff..amazing what you can fit in those boxes.

Haven't heard from my daughter yet except for 1 quick e-mail.Hoping that she's saving that phone call for Christmas.I sent her package out the day after they deployed and saw on the Navy site that the CV was getting a replenishment today..so..hoping that she gets her gift around the same time. I'm doing a lot of hoping here aren't I?
