My husbands shop has a coffee maker. Just make sure they have filters when you send coffee. I also sent creamer just in case.

gatorade makes the "to go" individual size of drink mixes. Got them at Target. Costco has both nuts and assorted fruit and nut trail mixes. They are really good. Also  lots of selection of protein bars there. incluidng Cliff bars. Mrs. Fields makes individual wrapped cookies. They will stay fresh. Question?? they can't get coffee on the ship? do you send instant?  Thanks all.

@RDRRP did not think of gum have to get some for next package Bs hubby's downloaded a ton of books to her iPhone but last time spoke to her she had not finished one book lol and she loves to read as soon as she gets her writing materials im sure letters will flow lol especially to those family members who do not have Internet. Anymore ideas of anything to send our sailors would be appreciated. Well have a good evening / morning.

I haven't heard that we can't send stuff that has been cooked with eggs or milk..like cookies but melting is an issue with some stuff.   I wouldn't send something homemade that is creamy like frosted cupcakes.   But I think cookies is okay, I've heard that they don't like pork products sent to some areas but I don't go into that much detail on a customs label that they actually know ingredients.

I'm looking to make some more brownies or a bread in the jars that I posted the link to in the discussions soon. Brownies in a jar survived last time.   Keep in mind the ship is made of metal and even in the SD area it's hot in the ship, the postal employees are NOT gonna keep anything cool for anybody.  and they don't have refrigerators available to store stuff in..keep this in mind when you send stuff.

I have sent ramen noodles, coffee, candy, dvd's, video games, gum, etc. I just mailed my hubby's 4th care package off yesterday! :)

FYI- On the Alcoa Davenport Works site they have a live feed to a Bald Eagle Nest.(it's next to their building on the Mississippi River) The 2 eaglets hatched this past weekend - they are gray 'fuzz' balls. The parents are Liberty and Justice. Both are quite attentive to their new eaglets. The same pair had 2 eaglets last year at the same nest. It's very neat to watch - beautiful birds !!
