Im from San Diego we moved from there almost 2 years ago. He transfered out there from the Dewert. Thats were we met and he wanted to come back to Florida. 5 weeks after I moved to Florida he got deployed the 2nd time. Jacksonville is alot defferent then San Diego but I do like it. Ince I started meeting people it made it easier. Cause I had never step foot in Florida before moving here.

Tiffany! Welcome to the group. Three deployments in three years... that's a lot. I am happy that you will be getting some much deserved shore duty soon. My husband is on the DeWert, this is his first deployment. He's been in the Navy for 3 years, but about 2 of them were spent in school in San Diego.. Where we met. :) While deployed, my daughter and I decided to move back home, with just 2 suitcases each. We are having a great adventure and she is learning the joy of having roommates, haha... So I will be fllying in from San Diego.

Alyse, I have been wanting to watch that movie, now I will definitely make the time. I'm grateful for the discounts that AMC gives, even with popcrn and drinks... I buy little tickets when I get my movie passes from the MWR office.

He works on the engines and works in the engine room he is a GSM. He has been in 8 years and this is his 2nd time on the Dewert. I cant wait till he gets home. I cant believe this 6 month deployment is almost over. His mom is coming up from tampa for when they come in. She has never got to see him come in from deployment. Thank goodness for email. I get to hear from him often. Is anyone else gonna be there when the ship comes in?

Because of my circumstances, I have to buy 4 one way tickets for my hunny and I, but I was able to get from his port to San Diego for 150, which wasnt too bad. I tried all the sites, Priceline, Mobissimo, expedia, etc.. Then I tried all the individual carriers airlines too. I just kept checking back 3 times a day for about a week, until the price dropped to something I could afford.
