Ok ladies! So I'm finally alive again! Lol. Sorry I've been gone so long! I've been having lots of people over lately and at work the ITs are getting anal and while I can still read this site, I can't post anything. Annoying as it gets! :[

Lee has been busy a lot, as I'm sure all of your boys are too. When I do hear from him it's short, rarely the lovely conversations we'd have in the past. Yet another something that's annoying... I at least got to talk to him for a bit while they were on the island. That was lovely. But he still hasn't gotten mine or his sisters package, nore the phone cards I ordered online... Something else to add to the annoying list. lol

I went home last weekend, which was nice. My parents paid for my car repairs, which I am SOOOO thankful for. I don't know what I would have done.

Anti, if there's anything I can do let me know. I know it's hard, so just know I'm here as best I can be.

Also ladies, I found some info on the 15th MEU website, I believe those are the same letters that you're getting emailed Tracey? They're quite revealing, I'm surprised. Aaah, the age of the internet. Ha...

Hope everyone is doing well. Mother is coming out this weekend, so dunno if I'll be on then. But I'll try and be better about getting on when I can! I've been missing you all dearly!!

It is really difficult when they're on this great adventure and we can't talk about it.

My father was a MasterChief, one of the first four in his rating AMMC. He served for 29 years, three wars. He passed away in his sleep early Wednesday morning, his cats by his side. He was 87. Fair winds and following seas to yet another hero....

Thank you ladies for the warnings. I deleted the post for good measure. I guess I'll just shut up and watch you all - while learning... Thanks again :)

We all have to look out for each other and each other's LO : ) As Anti M mentioned, I was more concerned about our group revealing information regarding the ship's future/present movement. When I first joined this group, I had to be reminded about OPSEC too (and very glad I was!). Now, after reading the guidelines, I'm a stickler for it- but with good cause : ) If I ever slip, kindly remind me as well! : ) My LO keeps reminding me too that lives are at stake- lives of people we love, and I'm sure that we all would rather protect them than put them in harm's way. Ok ok...I'll stop the lecturing now. Hahaha I'm also a Mom, so I get a little maternal once in a while LOL!

Not that far from the IO to Bahrain and that would be one of the closest bases for him to wait at. The ship has stopped there in past years, my hubby and my friend have bought the best gifts there on past tours on the Dubuque.

HOWEVER, this is speculation about future/present ship's movement and a heartbeat away from being a serious OPSEC violation.

Greichi, I know you are new, have you read the OPSEC thread in General Discussions yet? Very important.

Just a friendly reminder about OPSEC. Did everyone get the updates from the Ombudsman? She says on the July Newsletter:
"On a different note, I’d like to thank those of you that are really taking OPSEC seriously. It has come to our attention that there have been a few violations of OPSEC and this isn’t good. Therefore, at the end of this newsletter, I went ahead and included the links on OPSEC guidelines that I’d included in the June Newsletter. I hope you take a moment to browse through some of this info and you’ll see how and why it is so important and it concerns all of us. Our ship has not suffered loss of privaleges due to violations on Facebook, e-mails and phone calls as of yet, but let’s not be the ones to cause it."

Yeah, I was wondering, the bow is different. That's like a carrier, but 8 is the old Hornet, long gone.

Wish hubby were home tonight so he could have a look.
