OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I wish I was with my LO right now... I'm so envious because where he's at is sooooooooooooo beautiful... but then again, I'd hate to be on the ship. lol

Good news, Pamela!

Bluenose is crossing the Arctic Circle, more common with the Atlantic fleet. The Baby is the chubbiest guy, he's King Neptune's baby, they grease up his belly and the guys have to pluck a cherry out of his belly button with their teeth. At least, that's the old tradition. Larry learned to growl and show his teeth... the "baby" would chicken out first!

I haven't received a newsletter either. : ( My LO tells me that they are having connectivity issues so many of them can't email attachments out. I'm so glad that Pamela's son has been able to at least email her often! : ) My LO says that he has no choice but to participate in the ceremonies, but that he really, REALLY didn't want to. He's a quiet, shy type of guy... not like me. Hahaha If I were there, I would probably take his place and say "BRING IT ON!!!! BWahahaha!" lol

My hubby's shellback was on the Dubuque. He knew about kissing the baby's belly from his BlueNose days and when it came time on the Dubuque, he knew how to scare the baby into backing off .... "Clayton's crazy", they didn't mess with him, but they didn't mind much either.

I wonder if they still kiss the baby's belly?

Another ship's helo dropped the goods : ( it's ok... I got over it... no use crying over spilled milk (mail) lol : ) I just don't think my LO is over it though... it is a morale killer.

The thought of a lost package makes me cringe! Sorry Wyette!

I'm just guessing, but it does happen.

Mailbag go over the side? Sucks.

Just FYI... any outgoing mail sent recently from our LOs are not going to be received. There was a slight mishap and outgoing mail is unrecoverable.... including a package for me! : (
