Happy belated 4th to everyone! Wow- it has been pretty quiet around here. I've been hearing from my LO quite frequently via email. Looks like mail was delivered to them again today. : ) I've tried to sign up for the newsletters through the Ombudsman again and they were very responsive. (Just in case email goes down and my LO can't fwd it to me/us.)
@ Julie- my Mom and I were just talking about making cute pillow cases this weekend! How funny! Also, I never thought about sending air freshener- I'm sure that that would come in handy in many places! Hehehe
@Pamela - I relayed your 4th of July focus/message to all my friends on FB : )
@Anti M - I totally agree... I would rather be safe than sorry. I'm starting to "clean up" my posts. : )

The newsletters go out to far fewer people, anyone in the world can read this board. This group feels comfy, but it is FAR from private. Also, if they can see your profile and know full names, a little googling yields far more information than you'd ever be comfortable a with a complete stranger knowing. Especially if that stranger has bad intentions against the military AND their families.

Sorry, the training still sticks with me.

Lol, good to know that doesn't go away! And I say "growl" too!! Some people look at me weird for it, but I think it's a great term! LOL!!

Also too. The ship's email and phones are down. They were supposed to be back up by now, but I haven't heard from him yet so I'm guessing not... Aaaaand my husband said he looked all over the "city" for a darn pay phone... there were none in sight. Lame. I officially dislike that place.

I'm incredibly irritated at the moment. I got to talk to Lee for a good 45min yesterday. Which was just absolutely lovely until we got cut off and ever since then his email's been down. So today he calls me FIVE TIMES IN A ROW while I was in a MEETING!! UUUUHG! I swear I could strangle him! I can't tell you how many times I've told him, "If I don't answer, try back in 15minutes." It also would have helped had he not stayed out so late and called me earlier. The DORK! Now I probably won't get to talk to him till the next port, if then! UHG! Angry angry angry. Why can't boys just listen?? I even answered the phone twice and tried to let him listen to know I was in a meeting, and what's he do? "Hello? .... HEEEELLOOOOOOO?" aaah! I'm surrounded by officers and higher ranking enlisted, and you can hear his voice on the phone. He did this both times I answered the call. Then leaves a voicemail the fifth time "I heard some voices, but I don't know what that was about." .... dork. Dear goodness I love him, but he's a goober. Uhg.

Ah, flowers, so sweet. Gotta love the internet!

First flower story: I had a boyfriend in A school who transferred to SD. We knew we'd not see each other again, but we stayed in touch for a bit. He sent me roses ... they were frozen in transit and I opened a box of black, dead roses. I cried for about a minute, then laughed and laughed. The company sent new ones, the old ones weren't supposed to be delivered. I have a picture I should scan in of me and the roses.

Second flower story: My current hubby was in Japan on the Dubuque. He bought cheapo silk flowers somewhere and sent them to me in Diego Garcia, the best he could do under the circumstances. They fell apart or I'd still have them. Wonderfully romantic!

I'm done with today... just done. Going to lose my sanity. Lol. It has NEVEEEEER been this busy here before. My friend suggested it was quite possibly due to a Lunar Eclipse that happened Saturady morning. Stupid moon, making my day crazy... I haven't sat down since my last post. I'm only now eating [which consists of a bagel-- yay no lunch today!!! I KNEW I should have eaten breakfast this morning. Oh well.]
My patients have definitely been keeping me busy. I've been especially watchful over this one baby due to an issue she was having. The Doctors weren't to worried but I pushed for her to go to the NICU to at least be observed. They were reluctant but finally agreed. Less than an hour after the baby got there her O2 saturation went drastically low. The RNs there "joke" and say she got herself a hotel stay with them now. Lol But at least she's getting treatment. Goodness what a day! And now I'm waiting for my next patients to get here. . .

Ope. Nope new plan. Gotta go! I'll reply to everyone in a moment. LOL!

Where are you getting the newsletters because my computer is blocking it?? [These computers block EVERYTHING though. Uhg.]

And Pam, coffee is my thing! I have a place in mind for SD and Az! Are you far from Desert Ridge? :]
