Hey ladies! [And gentlemen! hehe] Sorry I haven't been posting. My working hours have been crazy. I finally have more than just one day off in a row in the last month and while working "12" hour shifts at the hospital, i'm drained! I've been reading everyone's posts when it's not too busy at work though! I just can't post from there. Only on discussions [pretty weird... can't wait for my enlistment to be up... lol]. BUT! I just wanted to let everyone know that I got an email from the Dubuque ombudsman about t-shirts they have for sale! They're not fancy or anything but it represents the ship and I thought ya'll would like to know if you you haven't already signed up for the emails. If you want me to foward it to you just email me at n.alexandra.bell@gmail.com

Lee emailed me today and we talked until he went to bed. Can't wait to get a phone call from him though. After work tomorrow he's taking one of the MWR tours in Petra with one of our friends. How exciting! I googled pictures and it looks amazing. I have to say I'm jealous and hope to one day see it with my own eyes.

Julie I know that it's frightening to read some of these things but know that our boys are the BEST! Lee wrote me saying that the President himself has said that the Dubuque is currently the best ship out in the 5th Fleet right now. Imagine that! Our old gator, only months from retirement and they're being called the best. Lee was complaining saying that they were worked with shipboard cleaning and long working hours as their thanks. Lol, it's true. They could at least have a good port to go into. So far he can't stand any of the ones they've been to. Not even Hawaii. Goodness. All I ask for is that he at LEAST be able to call my cell phone from the ship. Blah... I hate that. Something about it's not a secure line and what not.

Anyway! Hope everyone is doing well and hears from their Sailor soon!!!

I had e-mailed the ombudsman about one month ago (maybe longer) requesting to get newsletters but have had no response. Any suggestions????

DebbieG, a mission as well executed as this one clearly involves much "behind the scenes" support. Without corpsmen, machinists, officers, cooks, well, the whole ship made this possible! Everyone on board was a part of the raid!

I like this one the best

The most remarkable part of this mission is that not a shot was fired! How well trained and skilled they must be!

Thank you chopperdad - fantastic picture!! I am bursting with pride!!! With the anniversary of 9-11 approaching, I am so thankful to be an American with a son in the service.
