I’m coming to San Diego this month to see my son. He’s assigned to the USS Essex. Where should I book a hotel that puts me as close to the base as possible, closest to where the Essex is located?

Is the Essex in San Diego?  If so maybe one of the San Diego groups would be good for you to join.

Elle - this group doesn't seem to be active.  Are you on FB?  There is a group for the USS Essex.

Just google USS Essex and the FB group will pop up.

I'll look around and see if there's another group on here that might benefit you.

Hello - I’m new to this site so I need your help please -

my sailor has only been on the ship for a couple of months

and I can’t stop worrying about how he’s really handling this

transition to ship life ... I have so many questions that I’d

really like to address but need to learn how to maneuver

around the site.  I’m so happy to have gotten to this point of

finding a group for the USS Essex

Is this page still active or is it strictly on Facebook now?

My son said he has lost weight but hasn't said anything about being hungry.

thanks Vickie.  We are doing the Rushmore next, then the Anchorage as they all are carrying the 15th MEU.  We can still use some help with sewing, fabric and shipping $.

Thank you!

Has anyone heard from their sailor that he or she is hungry. I'm hearing comments about half servings & losing weight.  Time to send another care package.

Thank you, thank you!!! I posted something on our ship's casual conversation site to let them know what you have done!
