I have not been here for awhile. Has there been any talk of a Tiger Cruise this summer?
Sharon, I bet you had a wonderful time visiting with your mom. 92...that's amazing!
I plan on getting my t-shirts from the Essex site too. Can't wait to see what they look like!
It was 60 degrees and sunny today and extended forecast calls for more of the same for the week. Spring fever hit me today when I ran an errand during my lunch break! I would have loved to keep on going...home that is...and sit on my deck and soak up that beautiful sunshine :-)
Take care,
Cathy
another question about the shirt sale. i know it's a fund raiser, so does each ship use the money for their ship (at the time)... if you purchase shirts from the BHR, does the Essex get any benefit from that and vice versa? not that it matters a whole lot, just wondering. thanks
thanks, ya'll for the birthday wishes! hubby, and kids went out friday night. was a very nice day!
that is so neat about jesse's cake.
cathy-hope all goes well with your uncle. sounds like a nice family time!
i guess i am not going to get a grey shirt, as i didn't get my money off. hopefully, i'll get it from karen (Essex). :)
my brother in law who will be going on a tiger cruise on the USS Carl Vinson has his info already...hmmm...i hope i hear soon from the Essex.
have a wonderful week, all.
Hi ladies! Last Josh and I chatted he said he would talk to his chief. I haven't heard from him since that email. I look forward to when they are back so that we can have a heart to heart (face to face skype) conversation. I expressed Josh's heartfelt message to my uncle and he understands if he can't make it back, he just says "God Bless Him." I told him maybe he and Josh could skype. I tried to explain what that was, but not sure he got it :-)
Almost our whole family will be getting together with my uncle in a few weeks to look at old pics and old movies that we found. Very much looking forward to this! If it all works out, MAYBE that could be the day we could skype in Josh!
It's so exciting looking at the pictures of their new ship isn't it!?!?! I bet they have some really busy days ahead of them!
It's a blue sky and sunny day here in upstate NY! We are celebrating our oldest son (DJ - Derrick Jr.) birthday today. He's 29. YIKES...just finished looking at old pictures...where did the years go? I love doing that on their birthdays! We're all missing Josh a little bit more today as we are wishing he was here to celebrate too.
Take care and enjoy your weekend everyone!!
Happy Birthday Kyann!
Sure was nice of the HTs to make Jesse a cake.
cathy, have you found out any more info about whether josh would be able to get family leave? hugs and prayers to all of you.
Happy Birthday Kyann!!
Here is a little of what Jesse sent me. Of course I had to edit cuz he abbreviates almost every word, LOL!!
"Wow. The HT's made me a cake outta cinnamon danishes n oreos n hershey kisses! They put a rolled up piece of paper for a candle n everything inside it! :) they made me a card too! HT's are my family. I didn't know they loved me like that! They turned the lights off n everything! I almost cried to b honest with you"
(awwww!!!)
You guys all see the facebook pics with the BHR and Essex side by side? !!!! Love those pics!! Waiting now to see the BHR post pics looking at the Essex. was so happy to see those this morning. Jesse told me even before I saw them that he got to see the BHR (which is great, cuzz he doesn't get "outside" much, LOL)
TGIF friends!
oh, cathyo, thanks! i got up too early this morning (5:45) and ate breakfast with my hubby. i almost ruined one of his surprises to me. ha ha then the phone rang and it was our oldest son on his way to work calling to tell me. now i'm up and don't have to leave for work for 2 hours...ummmmm...LOL
so, i didn't send my money for the shirts, so i might just have to wait for the colored ones...???
have a great day, all.
ps, mary, i will tell jesse happy birthday on FB. :)
Happy Birthday Jesse and Kyann!!! Enjoy YOUR day!
