DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Katie e-mailed from Cairns. Said she finally got the packages from her Grandma. The ship rec'd 7,000 pounds of mail. Katie can't wait to get on shore. She said from what she can see, it is beautiful!!

Here is what Jonathan wrote about it:
"The ceremony was pretty neat. They started out by waking us up
at 5. We had to wear our utilities inside out and backwards. Then we
crawled around on the floor for a half an hour singing row row row your
boat. They served us breakfast in the hanger bay, which was dyed all
sorts of weird colors. Then they took us up to the flight deck on the
elevator! While we were going up, we got sprayed with firehoses and
yellow dye. My hair was dyed yellow all day! We had to crawl around
everywhere we went. It was very silly."

You can go to http://www.essex.navy.mil and then click on the "Essex Family" on the top right and it will direct you to the page where there's an e-mail address for the ombudsman. I just e-mailed them and asked to be added.

I just received a letter from CAPT Brent Canady. It was emailed from the ombudsman. He is explaining to the families what happened with their docking problem. Not much new, but he gives their arrival and departure dates. I forwarded to the people that sent me their emails last time. Let me know if you want me to forward it to you.

That must really suck for the families that have flown down there to meet them.
