DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Katie got her passport taken care of before she went to BC just in case she would need it. She had to pay the same fees as anyone else, but she put down occupation as US Navy and it was processed within a few short weeks. You need a passport picture and you can get the form online and just take it to the post office with your $$.

I hear you Tina. LOL. I'm still waiting for a phone call or email. I sent an email asking him to call when he got home. He returned my email with "give me the numbers". That was it, no news just four words. I sent all our cell phone numbers but I'm still waiting. I am grateful for this site.
I love your pictures Lorraine. I am sooooooo jealious.

Katie called tonight to tell me that she will be stationed on the USS Essex out of Sasebo, Japan. She is excited...Japan was #3 on her 'dream list' after San Diego (#1) and Pearl Harbor! Not sure when she will be leaving yet. Katie is in Mod 6 of her DC training at A school.

I have t-mobile. They will put the phone on hold but there is a silly tax that they charge which is $2.00 a month. There is no charge for incoming international calls. My son got a phone card when he arrived and phoned each one of us on our cell phones. I used Skype when I was in Japan. It costs $3.00 a month and you can phone any landline in the U.S. or Canada.

I got an email from Jonathan! He received the package I sent today. That was quick only 11 days. I guess they deliver on Sundays.

I don't recommend it because it is difficult to use and they want to charge you.
http://www.stratfor.com/frontpage They want you to buy a memebership and it is very expensive. I just redo the free trial. I don't know how accurate it is but since they are reporting on the past it might be close. I google search all the time and I will let you know if I find anything helpful. If you google "USS Essex Cobra Gold 2009" you can read some interesting stuff about what they have been doing.

Jonathan told me that they would be out about 10 months total this year. He rarely emails me. He has been difticult to get information from his whole life. It is hard now that I can't ask him my 50 questions a day. I do my own research. You all have been helpful. I found a website that tells you where they are. It is about a week late. They update every Wednesday afternoon but I don't know how accurate they are.
