marianne-i sent mine to you.
sharon-i saw your post on BR-very nice! i feel your pain for our sailors not being able to come home, however, we still have 2 more at home, so i gotta be a little chipper. :) i think about him so much, stalk his fb page, the Essex, the 31st Marine, the 7th fleet, etc...for anything of him. we email back and forth some, not enough for my liking. in his CHRISTmas box, i sent him a questionnaire of so many questions that i have asked and he has not answered and then some. i hope he finds it amusing, and i hope he sends it back! i sent a SASE so he better not give me any excuses. ha ha they are mostly yes and no questions, but i told him to feel free to elaborate. hmmm, think he will???
i have been feeling depressed, maybe that is why, because i am missing hunter so much. really can't say, but could be. it's not like we can sit and talk for hours if he was home, it's just the thought of him being so far away, especially at this time. his birthday is tuesday, and that's making me bummed out, too.
things will get better, sharon.
have a great weekend, all!
You can either send them to me (Sharon I rec'd yours) or directly to the
Wow AuntieJ! That's great to know!!
Thank you, Marianne, for getting this information. I will send you a message to your inbox.
For those desiring to send cards/messages to the family of the Petty Officer who died on Nov 23 on the USS Essex
The following is the email response I rec'd from the Ombudsman...as you read, the family has asked for privacy and they had to ask permission to do this......Hi Marianne,
Tina - you may be right. Just figured that since he was a Petty Officer with so many years in the Navy that he would have his family with him.
I did send off an email to the ombudsman and will let you know what the response is.
I searched several different places looking for a hometown, but couldn't find information.
Marianne, I think your suggestion of sending "to the family of..." is a way of getting a card there if we can't get any further information.
