I got a mothers day email but my boy hasnt called in two weeks.  I hate these dead times.

Hi Nannette, I also was fortunate to receive a call on M.day. my husband got a call yesterday too, only because DS was in port. He said don't expect too many calls for awhile. We've been writing emails everyday with the Phillies' scores- they're doing terrible, but it gives us an excuse to say Hi! without be too annoying to him.

It's nice they call when they can.

My son Ben is a spartan

Hi nurse drae, good to see another Mom sign on.

DS has been sent over to one of the DDG's in the carrier group so I hadn't checked on this forum for awhile.

My son is a CSSN with the Spartans

Hi SailorMom94,

Welcome aboard! I could use a dictionary for all the Navy acronyms!

Sorry, if it sounds too nosy? SailorMom94, but what is a CSSN?

And (also to nurse drae) are the guys enjoying their deployment so far?

My son is a spartan- just saw this post !

Hi pattyb,

Welcome Spartan Mom! I hope all is well with you and your son!

Are you anxiously waiting, as I am, for their return trip?

shouldn't be too long now! although I'm not even sure where they will return to, Norfolk or Mayport, let alone when.

Hello!  My son Taylor is a Spartan.  This is his first deployment he is ADAN Aviation Machinist Mate.

We are heading to Norfolk for homecoming and hear that it will be a very long day.  They will have a hospitality tent but not sure what that means?  We would like to bring a back pack with snacks and additional warm gear but we cannot find any information on what we can bring and not bring.  Does anybody have any information on this or know where I can find it?  Will chairs or seats be available - I have a bad knee?

I am so happy to have found this group!

Hi Proudmomof2,

so glad you posted a comment. It's always great to meet?! a new Spartan mom. It's almost time to be on the dock, so I'm not sure how to be helpful with your questions. I think a hospitality tent is where you can sit to rest, maybe get coffee, tea, at least water. The GHWBush forum has loads more advice on the actual day activities. You may have to scroll through the posts to find the relevant info.

But I'm sure it will be well worth the trip. Best regards to you and Taylor, and hope your family have a terrific reunion!

Thank you nannette6209,

I did do some online research and found a post from 2012 with lots of great details of the George H W Bush homecoming in 2012.  It was old but I am thinking that not much would have changed from that homecoming to what we can expect at this one.

I am so excited to be there and cannot wait to see my Son!

Thanks again for your reply.

Hello Spartans, is this group still active?
