For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please help keep our Sailors safe by observing operational security (OPSEC) and not discussing specific details of the ship's schedule.

Ships Address: (this is for Sailors attached to the ship, squadrons have different addresses). You must know the Department and Division your Sailor is assigned to ensure mail finds its way to him or her.

Here is the specific link the USPS Priority Mail APO/FPO Flat Rate Boxes, choose a pack of 10 or 25 boxes and they will deliver them right to your house. The APO/FPO boxes are the large size so you'll have to order the regular priority mail boxes if you want medium or small. Also linked the needed customs forms that you can order at the same time. ALL ARE FREE. You can then use Click and Ship to ship it at a discount and you can even schedule the post office to pick the package up from your house.

Comment by JackieD on April 30, 2014 at 10:30am: Anita, to order the portraits, you have to either mail back the entire order form that came in the mail or fax the order. If you call PortraitWorks, they may be able to locate yours by your sailor's name. Mine has my son's name and for ID # it has GHWB - #### (four digits).

Dang it, my sailor sent me an email and I can't find the link they sent. Any ideas? I could not find a area on the cruise book site to get personal portraits.

mommaross, He is such a great kid and it was nice to see that he still has his fun personality. He loves what he does and I think it shows. As far as the ombudsman FB page, if your clicking on the page that always shares the ships photos, they are legit. It is normal for them to verify who you are.

Dad, I scour the photos every time I see one with purple in it and so glad the one I finally saw shows his personality. He looks so happy and I know his momma is :) I've been on cloud nine all day.

Question.... I clicked on the ghwb ombudsmen page on FB a few days ago now and I have just received a private message in my inbox on FB asking for my sons name, rank and rate. I'm just checking before I reply to them - is this normal - I know if they are for real they need to verify I am who I am but I need to know they are who they are - paranoid about opsec. Help!

I had to save the picture to my computer so I could crop it and zoom in, but low and behold, there he is! Pointing right at me! Nothing as went quite right today, but WHO CARES. I got to see my boy!
