Good Morn GW Group: Ship posted these pictures last night..

I have heard from my sailor maybe once or twice in the last two weeks.....and he has not received my package I mailed about 3 weeks ago....How do I get more information about the homecoming?

Anyone catch how the media picked up on the Truman CVN75 leaving this week, fair winds and following sea to them!....Really it's just the current deployment as part of an on-going rotation of forward-deployed forces to support maritime security operations in the U.S. 6th and 5th Fleet areas of operation.....when I read it left, my though was...hummmm there's an empty carrier slip on the dock now....:))

Did you watch the Navy in Review weekly videos:http://www.navy.mil/viewVideo.asp?id=20940

This posted yesterday on the navy.mil website..information about the UNITAS LANT kicking off:http://www.navy.mil/submit/display.asp?story_id=92023

think part of the slowness of this deployment is the lack on communication. My sailor just got off a 10 month deployment but the media departments mass communication staff and Captain were great at having weekly post and videos of what they're doing, including , logistics stats, bombing victories and any special guest like singers and yes, NFL football cheerleaders.. Funny, one Captain's corner started with "Sorry I haven't posted in 2 weeks even my Mom asked why?"...lol.. oh, am sure the moms that sailors were in Japan and now USA bound are exploring with anticipation...wow..3 years is a long time...did any of you make an old fashion paper-chain for cutting the days away...lol....

I have no information on homecoming, as my sailor will be hopping off as soon as he is not needed...remember I told you, he gets around, the carrier hopper....lol

Oh, joshmom, I have several all league championship banners hanging in my kiddos room's...but my football player is now wearing NWUs...lol...the others are soccer, basketball, wrestlers (hate that sport) and swimmers...we've been at Junior Olympics for swimming 3 times...gotta love the kiddos that keep busy, keeps us busy too!

Sethsmom - your son needs to add your name and anyone else who will be at Virginia to the list of people attending the Homecoming. Your names will have to be on that list to be allowed into the base. Send him an email and tell him you NEED to hear from him to make sure he got you added to the list. Hopefully when he reads your email that you plan on going he'll respond back - keeping my fingers crossed!

BeachBunny - WOW that's a lot of food!!!!
Good luck to your football team...we lost out in the state quarter finals, but my youngen got a District Championship title all four years of high school..he's happy!

I agree this deployment does seem long. I think for me anyway it's the anticipation of getting to see my son & the ship at the Homecoming for the first time. In the past their Homecoming just meant they were back in Yokosuka....still on the other side of the world! This one has so much more meaning, especially for those of us who's sailors have been in Japan for so long. They're coming home to the USA!!!! Getting closer each day ladies!

Hi all, I read all of your comments all of the time but don't comment very much. I am so very very very jealous of the contact you have with your sailors. I can't get mine to contact us more than maybe once every other month. When we were in San Diego to see him he asked for us to come to Virginia but I have been unable to make any contact with him to get any details. He sent me an email from a strange address indicating his ID card was broken so he couldn't get on the regular systems and he doesn't have a phone or a personal computer. Can any of you help me figure out when and how I make arrangements to get to see him in Virginia when the ship comes in. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I so enjoy living through your contact with your sailors to experience the place is mine has been.
