While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

With the upcoming holiday I remeber for last years cruise that there was a cool chart on how much food it takes to feed the carrier a Thanksgiving dinner...I couldn't find. I'll still look for but I found the stats in the Captain's Corner from last November:
So how much traditional fair is required to feed a hungry crew of 5,000?
5,000 lbs of turkey
1,600 lbs of honey spiral ham
2,000 lbs of steamship round
1,500 lbs of shrimp
What will we have to complement the main courses?
1,500 lbs of potatoes
1,000 lbs of cornbread stuffing
660 lbs of cranberry sauce
Plus salads and vegetables
And of course, what would Thanksgiving be without dessert...

joshmom, we're still finishing football, made the playoffs so we keep going...last weekend we were fb messenging about NFL stats...We're not hunters but some are here. This is funny, my younger sons girlfriend's Mom and Grandma, yup follow this...lol...they went hunting last weekend...I asked him what are they hunting for, sorry I don't know the seasons...he said, "Jerky!".....lol

Funny my sailor pops on every night, well according to his FB green light hours measurement but he said he hasn't been on for days. Thinking it maybe just his messenger app logging in when he checks the time on his phone....well, that's what makes since...I do have to say of the 3 deployments this one has had the least contact back home... :(

Hang in there djk's Mom! My guess is that your son is probably extremely busy. I don't know much about being undes. and what all is involved in striking a rate but could be he's spending any and all free time getting things done. Keeping fingers crossed you hear from him soon.

Still no word from my Sailor although I did see he was online about 21 hours ago.. Although not saying anything to me at all.. with my Son that is usually not a good sign. He is undes, and I understand they MUST strike a rate by their 2 year anniversary and that is on 11/25! Im a little concerned that he has not answered an email or said Hey Mom in such a long time!

Happy Monday Ladies!
I haven't received a phone call from my sailor in quite a while but we have been emailing each other. This weekends emails were all about football & deer hunting...here in Missouri deer season is a national holiday - seriously! I mailed his last package 3 weeks ago and he hasn't gotten it yet but I didn't figure he'd get it until they hit this next port.
Oh ladies I'm getting so excited - we're getting closer!!!! I can't wait but I must admit I'm starting to get a little stressed out. I've got so much to get done in such a short amount of time. I've been so busy lately with football - making signs, decorating the town (yeah we get into football around here) but football ended this weekend so now it's time to start Christmas shopping, baking cookies, decorating the house and I have to get all that done this month because wrestling starts Dec 2nd (yep my youngen is quite the athlete) and with going to Virginia it doesn't leave me with much time to get it all done. Oh well, somehow I'll manage, always do and it will all be worth it since I get to bring my Sailor home with us! First Christmas home since he joined the Navy - spent the first one in bootcamp and last three in Japan. Finally it's my turn!
