anchor n stephs moms....your girls do sound like they have an awesome job!! AND one that can easily translate to work in the civilian world when they finish their tours.
All moms.....it surely does sound like our kids had a wonderful time in Thailand.
katlatna....have to admit that evidently my sailorette did sample a bit much of the alcohol }:( Said her BF had to hold her hair back while she puked. But she was not hung over the next day, so I guess that was a good thing!! Just glad he was with her while they were out on the town for that night. I always worry if there aren't guys with them to watch out for them. Luckily, she always has a ton of male friends, so it's never JUST the girls.

DC, yes, the poverty in Thailand and the Philipines both have had an impact on Kelcie. I think it is good for these kids to see first hand just how lucky they are to live in the U.S. I think she has enjoyed Thailand so much, because this is the 1st port stop that she has been able to have more than a single overnight liberty. They got a new master chief, and he arranged things so that security could have MUCH more liberty time in ports than they have been able to on the past visits.

SueS, I agree with Ginnlynn. I suspect there is a young lady somewhere distracting him. I know that when my g'daughter has a romantic attraction, I practically never hear from her. When she is foot loose and fancy free, I become much more interesting to chat with. I first started noticing this behavior when she was in A school.

Mollie, It is interesting the different views of the ports. My g'daughter absolutely loved Singapore but finds the living conditions in where they are now overwhelming. She has been really affected by the exploitation of children and young girls.

Becky, what a wonderful surprise. Enjoy every minute of his visit.

Kelcie just posted pic's. Riding go carts, ATV's and elephants, bottle feeding baby tigers, contortionist, snake charmers.....you name it!! What an awesome time she has had in Thailand. Something tells me there isn't gonna be any "left over" $ to tuck away into savings until the next paycheck!!! :>) :>) She said it has been the best port visit so far!

Welcome, LittlePony! You will find this to be a caring, supportive group. Be sure to join the GW Facebook site. There you can see pictures and learn when they are in port. Right now they are in Thailand (public information posted by the GW) but will soon again be "on tour."

Hi everyone! My boyfriend just got assigned to the GW, and he was jw if they are currently deployed. I know we cant talk specifics but Im pretty sure we can say if they are on tour. If not no big deal. But its nice to be able to talk to others in the same situation as me. Hope we can all be friends :)
